Our Wedding

Although we went to school together, we never traveled in the same circles. In 2009, we happen to run into each other through a mutual friend. What started out as attraction turned into an unbreakable bond. Many couples go through things but to say we have battled it all is an understatement. We have faced each of life’s challenges and come out on the other side. When we were married it was illegal here in Indiana so we made a road trip to Iowa on January 18, 2011 and managed to get stranded in an ice/snow storm on our return trip home. We later sued the state for our marriage recognition and succeeded in 2014. January 18, 2026 marks our 15-year anniversary and we thought there was no better way to celebrate than to renew our vows with those that mean the world to us. This also gives us a chance to show our commitment to each other the way we should have been able to in 2011.

Katie and Michelle met at a leadership academy. I saw Katie looking around for a place to sit.  I thought you look nice. I told her that she looked nice and to sit down. That’s where the friendship began!

Kaz and I have been friends for 18 years.  He has become like a brother to me and he has stuck by me through all the good and bad. He is as loyal as they come.
