We met when we were seniors in high school at a K-State football game. A few months later our high schools happened to play each other for the state basketball championship. After a couple of dates, we made it official that summer before heading to college. Blake started at Butler County Community College playing football and Shannon started at Kansas State. After one year long distance, Blake was offered the opportunity to walk on at K-State. From sophomore year on, we were both at K-State. Blake played football there for the next four seasons and majored in Agribusiness. Shannon majored in Elementary Education. Shannon graduated in May 2019. With one football season left for Blake, Shannon took a job teaching fourth grade in Manhattan. Blake graduated in December of 2019. In March, we went to the football stadium, the stadium that we met in and that Blake played in for four years, and on the field in front of the section where we met, WE GOT ENGAGED. We couldn't be more excited to start life together!
