Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park

Great place for hiking! May be able to walk on the crater depending on volcano status. There are lava caves, crater views, and sulfur fields. There is hotel and little cabins available here, if one wanted to spend the night.

Pu'uhonua O Honaunau National Historical Park

Great historical site to walk around. There is also an area to have a picnic by the beach with charcoal grills. This is our favorite place to grill out for sunset!

Captain Cook Monument

There are a couple options to see the monument. You can rent kayaks in Kealakekua Bay and paddle over to the monument. There is great snorkeling and lots of reef fish because it is a protected area. You can hike the Captain Cook Monument trail. Also, there are some boat tours that bring you to the area to snorkel.

Two Step Beach

An incredible turquoise bay along the Big Island’s western side, Honaunau Bay (or Two Step Beach / Pae’a) is among the best places in all of Hawaii to enjoy world-class snorkeling among impressive coral reefs and lava rock pathways. Two Step is also a renowned scuba diving location for beginners and experts. Although not always present, there is a good possibility of seeing dolphins in the deeper waters of Honaunau Bay.

Manta Ray Night Dives

One of Ben and Shannon's favorite things to do! You can either scuba dive with the rays or snorkel and see them from the surface with one of the many tour boats.
