We went to Keystone Colorado for a week with Brock's family on his mother's side. In the middle of the week, Brock, his cousins (Nate and Anthony), Nate's fiancé Katie, Brock's twin Kyle, his girlfriend Helyna, and I all took a "kids" trip to Mount Evans for the day. Driving up the mountain, we stopped and everyone got out of the car to go hike down to the rock(pictured) through the rough terrain. I had to stay in the car because I recently had surgery to repair my ruptured Achilles. I was not cleared to walk or put any pressure on it . Before Brock went down to the rock, he asked me if I wanted him to stay up in the car so I was not alone. I told him no and that it looked unreal and if I could, I definitely would be down there in a heart beat. I think Brock could see how frustrated and emotional I was about my injury. It was hard not being able to walk or hike, and it prevented me from experiencing that amazing view. Brock almost stayed with me, but I encouraged him to go and told him that he had to experience it for us both. They all came back up to the car after being down there for a little while, and we continued driving to the highest peak of the mountain. While continuing we saw mountain goats, big horned sheep, and elk. I kept repeating that it was one of the best days of my life, and little did I know it was going to get even better. On the way back down the mountain they stopped again at the rock, and I figured they just wanted to enjoy that spot one more time before we left. Brock begged me to come this time and said he would carry me. I looked at him like he was crazy, and told him there was no way I would let him carry me all the way down that mountain. But Brock would not give up and let me say no, and insisted I had to see the view.... so he carried me all the way down the mountain. In the photos you can see just how far that walk was, and how determined he was to propose in that very spot. When we got to the bottom of the mountain Brock proposed and it did become the best day of our lives.
