Our story began in August 2013 when we started college at Valparaiso University. We both made it into the Valpo Chorale and instead of starting off freshman year at those long-awaited college parties, the Chorale had a retreat at a CONVENT. We talked about life, high school, and choir kid stuff, and officially started out in the best FRIEND zone. It wasn't until a few years into college when best friends turned into "I love you". We enjoyed countless parties in the Phi Sigma Kappa basement, Chorale concerts, studying abroad while meeting up around Europe on the weekends, and we didn't officially date until our senior year.

As undergrad came to a close, we committed ourselves to making a long-distance relationship work. It wasn't easy and we lived all over the place! Finally, the summer of 2021 came and we were officially "home" together in Chicago after 4 years of long distance.

By July 2023, we made it back to Dresden, Germany where the Chorale visited on a tour in 2015. Aaron created the perfect itinerary for proposal day(we all know how Shannon appreciates a detailed itinerary!) After hiring a local German photographer and waiting until golden hour, Aaron asked Shannon to marry him next to the Nymphenbad fountain while quoting Taylor Swift, and of course, Shannon can't say no to Taylor Swift.

Here we are now; excited to celebrate over a decade of dedication, laughs, tears, starting and building our careers, art collecting, bar hopping, traveling, karaoke parties, and lots of love.
