Although Larson and Shannon may not remember, they spent time together as babies. Larson and Shannon grew up not far from one another, with their parents being close friends. Larson and Shannon attended the same middle school at Indian Valley Middle School where they became friends. As their friendship blossomed, Larson discussed with his older brother Austen how he felt about this friendship. One day Larson mustered up the courage to ask Shannon out, in which Shannon declined the offer stating that she was not allowed to date due to her Dads rules.
Once middle school days came to an end, Larson continued at Souderton Area High School while Shannon went to attend Christopher Dock Mennonite High School in Lansdale.
Larson and Shannon only stayed connected through basic social media pages.
During Shannons sophomore year at Indiana University of Pennslyvania, she was invited to attend a friendly get together at Mike Harts farm in Schwenksville where Larson was currently living. Larson and Shannon were happy to reconnect and catch up where their lives have taken them. Shannon and Larson stayed connected on social media as she continued College at IUP and Larson was working with his Dad with Hartland Demolition.
A day in the life of a demolition business brought Larson into the path of a baby raccoon. Larson played mom in trying to raise this baby raccoon by feeding them every two hours like it’s mother would. Since Larson and Shannon were connected through social media, Larson knew Shannon would enjoy seeing this little critter and sent snapchats to her while at college. Enamored, Shannon of course made time to visit the raccoon on her short weekends she came home.
When summer break finally approached, Shannon came home and her and Larson decided to name him Zorro. With Larsons summer becoming busier and Shannon being on summer break, Larson agreed to give Shannon full custody of baby Zorro under the condition of visitation.
Shannon continued raising Zorro and brought him everywhere she went, and dropped him off for Larson to babysit when she worked her summer job waitressing. Larson and Shannon laughed and became closer friends co-parenting a baby raccoon. As time went on, Larson and Shannon soon realized they weren’t just seeing each other just for the raccoon.
Shannon and Larson dated for 6 years, sharing a love for wildlife, animals, nature, and homesteading. On January 1st 2023, Larson proposed at one of their favorite places, Longwood Gardens. Larson and Shannon are looking forward to spending a special day with their family and dear friends.
