Where do we begin…our love story is quite unique compared to most! Cody and I met in college in November 2016. I was taking a road-trip with a few friends from my college soccer team to visit friends at Bemidji State University. A mutual friend mentioned this trip to Cody and he asked if he could tag along to go visit his best friend, Mikey. While at a party that weekend, Cody and I shared a kiss and that was just the start of our interest in each other. After that weekend, we would see each other out at the local bars occasionally and started to talk more frequently, but ultimately pursued other relationships for a while.

Eventually, years later, we started communicating again and immediately knew that there was still a connection between us. Since I was in grad school in Duluth and Cody was in Hastings at the time we didn’t have an opportunity to get together for a while. During this time what started out as casual texting conversation, quickly became frequent FaceTime calls. After months of this communication, I finally made the first move and said to Cody “Okay, are we going to go on a date already or what?!”

After that, we went on our first date in November 2021 at the Uptowner Cafe in St. Paul, which was that start of our relationship. From then on, we would see each other as often as we could and quickly became inseparable. In a short period of time, we knew we wanted to be together forever and decided to get our dog, Brewer, who is the best addition to our lives.

Fast forward to June 2023, Cody had mentioned that he wanted to have a special day together. He was taking me on what was supposed to be a mini golf and dinner date, but little did I know, he was planning to propose to me. We got to Centennial Lakes to go mini golfing, but minutes after arriving Cody took me by the water and asked me to marry him. Both of our families were there waiting to have dinner at the restaurant next door to celebrate. It was truly the best day of our lives and we are so excited for forever! :)
