Attire: While there are no rules or regulations on attire, semi-formal attire is preferred. Be yourself, but, at the same time, be your best self. 

Children: To give all our guests the opportunity to celebrate without having to worry about little eyes and ears, we politely request no children. If you have any concerns about this,&nbsp;please let us know.















Portland Weather:&nbsp;Many folks are not from the Pacific Northwest. Historical data tells us to plan for wet weather with a temperature range from 51 degrees to 39 degrees. Layers are recommended.&nbsp;











Parking:&nbsp;There is no venue parking on site. Street parking is available surrounding the venue. Most of the surrounding businesses will not be in operation on Saturday. It is recommended to take advantage of hotel shuttles and/or ride sharing apps where applicable.















Hotel Accommodations: The Radisson Red Portland&nbsp; 















Words:&nbsp;What is said and what is written means the most to us. From vows to your table number - all of this will have special meaning and paint the picture of our love.















Ceremony:&nbsp;The only thing I&nbsp;would say is that we plan to go move at a slightly slower pace and make sure we unpack all of the feels.

Welcome!

Shannon often thinks about the improbability of our paths crossing - the boy from Boulder coming to Corvallis, Oregon and falling in love with the girl from Beaverton.

The couple met online (a Match.com success story!) in February 2016 as Rob shifted&nbsp; from working in Minor League Baseball in Keizer to a position inside Oregon State Athletics. Meanwhile, Shannon was&nbsp;navigating the demanding and constant schedule of being a Kindergarden teacher at Mt. View Elementary School. Part of our story, and a large reason why our wedding is in February, is to continue in the spirt of the season that we met.





Some highlights from the early courtship - because remembering the early memories is so fun:





- On the third date, Rob made the power move to wear a three-piece suit. This prompted the first documented picture.





- Our first outdoor date was at Mary's Peak - in March! Because you can do no wrong in "the chase," we proceeded to drive to the top of the mountain, and then hike down to the base only to return to the top. This also marks the tale of Rob's having to straddle a downed tree&nbsp;and subsequent hiking trip quota of at least one obstacle in our path each time we hit the trails.





- Shannon graduated with her Master's in Teaching from Western Oregon University in Monmouth, Oregon in May, 2016. Rob, leaning on his past experience of saving pews for the family at Christmas Eve service, successfully reserved two rows of seating using quilts and blankets - never once afraid of the consequences of putting a swim move on en elderly woman to make sure we had two aisles. Shannon and her family celebrated yet another educational milestone in her amazing Education career. Rob was simply happy to participate, yet so proud of her accomplishments!



- We made a commitment to our faith in returning to church together. The Northwest Hills Community Church has welcomed us with open arms. We have deepened our faith through study&nbsp;in our regularly meeting community group, re-committed our lives to Christ through couples baptism, and look forward to serving others in the future. This has truly been a blessing in our lives through opportunities to connect with others and to a firm foundation in our marriage.



- Our first big trip was to San Francisco in the Summer of 2017. Where to begin? Being that we are both super planners, we were able to canvass the city and take in all that this amazing city has to offer. Highlights include the 3-hour city tour in a vintage 1960s VW van (our tour guide was certainly authentic), seeing the Redwoods at Muir Woods, and of course the Golden Gate Bridge selfies.

The Shrob Story

November 10, 2018 will always be a special day for us. Rob worked many long nights in the middle of wrapping up the high school football season planning a fun-filled day remembering our journey culminating in one big question for our future. We started the day with a well-placed alarm in the spare room, awaking Shannon to turn it off. To her surprise (might want to keep track of this motif!), she found a bouquet of flowers along with a note. This note simply said to pack a bag for the night and to get fancy! We were about to dive into a day-long journey that would take us back to several impactful spots throughout our love journey. Stop 1:&nbsp;Skyhigh Brewing - the site of our first date - time flew by as we hopped from one subject to the next. Over drinks and calamari - we hit it off. So - order another round! Complimented by&nbsp;the same&nbsp;drinks and food from our first date, Rob continued a tradition that associates with major events or holidays - Love Letters read aloud! At this point, Shannon was officially on notice that something big was coming! Stop 2: Northwest Hills Community Church - the site of our love and faith&nbsp;maturing, our family growing , and our community. God is at the center of our love, and this was certainly at the forefront of this special days' activities. After several months of dating, and following some keen advice, we were compelled to go back to church, together. We found a welcoming home at Northwest Hills. We immediately plugged into a weekly Community Group Bible Study, let loose at the Summer Family Camp, and re-committed&nbsp;our faith in an adult baptism. We were able to spend a quiet moment in the sanctuary and appreciate all of our blessings. Step 3:&nbsp;a surprise at first. While the two previous stops were spelled out through the trail of letters, the final stop was a surprise. As we turned onto US Highway 20 headed West - Shannon quickly realized were were headed to the coast. Rob did point our that we could be headed to Blodgett. Our final stop took us to the beach, specifically Newport's Nye Beach. This is our getaway from reality, with so many rich memories of time spent together. A third and final letter packed the most punch, culminating Rob getting down on one knee and asking for Shannon's hand in marriage.&nbsp; We then celebrated with another wonderful dinner at our favorite Newport restaurant - Clearwater (seriously - highly recommended and first-class service). Calls around the nation to our closest family and friends ensued. A fun-filled day that we will never forget!
