<blockquote><blockquote style="margin-left: 42px;">Jake and Shannon's story began during their freshman year at Elon University. They happened to sign up for the same English class and, as fate would have it, they were assigned to sit at the same table! They talked a little and their interest in each other grew stronger each class, but neither could make the first move. Despite Elon being a fairly small school, their paths did not cross again. Their story would have ended there if not for one night three years later… Just weeks into their senior year, Shannon ran into a sorority sister who told her about a mixer with the Rugby team, of which Jake was now a member. At the last minute, Shannon decided to change her plans for the night and fate took over from there. Within minutes of walking into the party, a familiar face approached her. After three years, Jake was not going to let another opportunity be missed. Their first date was at The Root, Shannon's favorite restaurant and an Elon classic spot. They spent hours talking and it was evident that this was no ordinary first date. After a memorable senior year, they were offered jobs 500 miles apart, so Jake moved to Michigan and Shannon moved to Washington, DC. Being apart further assured them that they were meant to be together. After Jake was relocated to New Jersey for work, Shannon decided to move with him back to her home state. In September 2016, they flew to Cancun, Mexico to celebrate two years together. As they walked along the beach, Jake asked Shannon to marry him. Of course, she said yes! They can't wait to take the next steps together as husband and wife and look forward to a lifetime of adventures!</blockquote></blockquote>
