Joey and Shannon met each other in one of their college classes (ok it was technically through a dating app - but it was in college!). The two dated for a few months, but went their separate ways when they both graduated from Cal State Northridge in spring of 2016.A few years passed and the two of them happened to run into each other at a coffee shop (jk - they reconnected on a different dating app). But this time - the match was for life!Some of their favorite activities to do together include attending concerts, catching a Dodgers or Angel City FC game, traveling, cuddling up on the couch with a good book, and playing with their spunky little pup Freddie.

Flights

We recommend flying into Dublin Airport. <a href="https://www.aerlingus.com/html/en-US/home.html" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Aer Lingus</a> has flights to Dublin from many U.S. cities such as Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, and San Francisco. There are also many other airlines that fly into Dublin.

Lodging

There are many hotels in Dublin's City Centre that will put you near a bunch of fun things to do. If you'd like to stay outside of City Centre, there are plenty of AirBnB's or hotels. We recommend staying near a train station along the train lines (pictured <a href="https://drive.google.com/file/d/13Ac4dWSMQrQjRWPEZ3wmRmfJx5QCk5we/view?usp=drive_link" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">here</a>) to be able to quickly get into City Centre. If you have any questions or want any recommendations on where to stay outside of City Centre, reach out to Joey!

Transportation

Dublin has a great public transportation system and is very walkable once you are in City Centre. If you're staying in City Centre, or near a train station/bus stop, you won't need to rent a car. All you need is a <a href="https://about.leapcard.ie/leap-visitor-card" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">leap card</a> to take the bus, train, or tram in Dublin. If you're going to drive to Castle Leslie, we recommend waiting to rent the car until you are on your way out of Dublin.

Travel & Lodging - Dublin

Getting to Castle Leslie

Renting a car will be the easiest way to get to the wedding, as well as being able to easily travel around Ireland after the wedding (just remember to drive on the left side of the road!)

Rental Car

There is a bus from Dublin Airport to Monaghan bus station for about €20. From there you can take a 10 minute taxi to Castle Leslie.

If you wish to stay onsite at the estate, you can book rooms at The Lodge or book a Stable Mew (the Mews are a more cost efficient option if you have a group of 4 - 5 people).

Travel & Lodging - Castle Leslie

We will have a couple activities planned in Dublin the weekend before the wedding that you are more than welcome to join. Here are some more fun things to do in Dublin below!

You can take a tour of the campus, do the Book of Kells tour and see the Long Room (pictured), or simply walk around the beautiful campus.

Trinity College Dublin

Take an awesome tour of the brewery and learn about the history and brewing process, and enjoy a pint at the top with a beautiful view of Dublin.

Guinness Storehouse

Be sure to book a tour, a tasting, or even a class at the distillery ahead of time!

Jameson Distillery Bow St.

A massive public park (twice as big as Central Park) where you can have a picnic, take a tour of the Farmleigh Estate, visit the flowers gardens, or just explore the park.

The private escorted tours have a driver/guide who drives the guests around the country, while the self drive tour allows you to drive yourself around the country and follow their arranged itinerary. These tours are fully customizable in terms of dates and locations.
