What should I wear? Is there a dress code?
Our dress code is "tropical chic," so think lightweight semi-formal attire, or what you might wear to an upscale dinner on a tropical holiday. Remember that we're in Florida so breathable clothes are a must. When in doubt, search Google images for "tropical semi formal attire" for some inspiration.
What will the weather be like this time of year?
May in St. Petersburg usually sees daytime temperatures in the mid 80's and evenings in the low 70's. Our wedding will take place in the late afternoon and evening, and we are blessed that our venue is located on the bayfront with a breeze and plenty of shade. We'll have lots of cool refreshments and fans to help beat the heat.
Where are the ceremony and the reception taking place?
The ceremony and reception are both taking place at Sacred Lands Preservation, 1700 Park Street North, St. Petersburg, Florida, 33710.
Will the ceremony and reception be indoors or outdoors?
Our wedding will be taking place outdoors, so please plan accordingly and apply sunscreen as the sun does not set until around 8pm. In the case of rain, the ceremony or reception might be moved indoors at the same venue.
What happens after the ceremony?
After the ceremony, the bridal party will be taking pictures nearby for around an hour. Guests can head straight to the greenhouse area, where we will be serving finger foods and beverages. While you are here, we encourage you to sign our guestbook, explore the gardens and maybe even feed the peacocks!
What should I do if I can’t make it?
You will be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly.
What time should I arrive?
We recommend that you arrive an hour before the start of the ceremony, to make sure everyone is on time and we can get the party started as scheduled!
Where should guests park? Is parking free?
There is a designated parking lot at the entrance to Sacred Lands, which is free for our guests. If you're planning on enjoying some adult beverages, we recommend using a ride share app like Uber or Lyft to get to and from our wedding. Please schedule yourself additional time to catch a ride, if you are going with this option.
Are kids welcome?
Our wedding will be kid friendly for ages 8 and above. Please let us know if you plan on bringing your children age 8 and up so we can save them a seat. While we love your younger ones, we ask that you leave them with a caregiver so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time so you can celebrate with us.
Can I bring a Plus One?
If your name is on the invitation, you may bring your spouse or significant other. Please be sure to list them on your RSVP so we can save them a space. We have a strict guest list to stay on budget, and our wedding is strictly RSVP only.
Do you have a hotel block for guests? Where do you recommend I stay?
We plan on reserving a hotel block in the coming months and hope to have more details soon. In the meantime, we recommend AirBnB or any of the fine hotels listed here: https://www.hotwire.com/Downtown-St-Petersburg-St-Petersburg-Clearwater-Hotels-Wedding-Hotels.0-n6162954-0-tWeddingHotels.Travel-Guide-Filter-Hotels
When is the RSVP deadline? Do I need to mail back my RSVP or can I do it online?
Please RSVP no later than April 5th, 2024. You may mail your RSVP back to us, or RSVP online.
Will food and drinks be served at the reception? What kind of food?
Appetizers and drinks will be served, followed by a sit-down meal. Since our wedding is later in the day, we advise you to have a full lunch so nobody gets "hangry" before dinner is served ;-)
Will there be any vegan/vegetarian/gluten free/special diet options?
Vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options will be available and we can accommodate special diets if you contact us ahead of time.
Where are you registered?
The most important thing is to have our friends and family with us on our special day. However, if it is your wish to bless us with a gift, we would greatly appreciate a contribution to our honeymoon fund so we can create new memories together: https://www.honeyfund.com/site/ThatsARapp2024
Can I take and post pictures of the wedding on social media?
Yes, we encourage guests to post pictures on to their social media channels, our only request is that you tag each photo with our wedding hashtag #ThatsARapp2024 so we can keep track of all of your pictures!
