How Shannon and Red met… Shannon had moved to Colorado Springs in May of 2021 and out of all of the gyms she applied to the one she got hired at was Red’s gym for 5 years… only God!

After a few weeks of her coaching Red overheard Shannon saying to a client on the TRX while working out that she was single, Red became intrigued. Shannon had also been asking her boss who she could be friends with and he mentioned Red because he was very involved in sports, different groups, and always doing things.

One week Red slid into her Facebook messenger to ask her if she wanted to grab dinner and a movie that weekend, but unfortunately she was in a wedding in North Dakota that weekend so she couldn’t, Red thought she was blowing him off, but she was genuinely in a wedding lol. She said definitely that she would take a rain check!

When Shannon returned she reached out to Red about that rain check that week and Red said he was actually going to Arizona to go sky diving with his friend. Shannon thought she lost her shot, especially after seeing his friend was a girl….

When Red got back a group of people from the gym (including Red and Shannon) decided to go to do the incline early on the 4th of July. So that morning as they ascended to the top Red stayed with Shannon the whole time! Shannon thought that was super sweet since it was only her second time ever and he did it all the time. Afterwards the group went out to breakfast and then everyone headed back to the gym to go their separate ways for the day. Shannon was heading home and reached out and asked Red if he wanted to meet up again. Red had plans to go with his cousins to the movies but said he would meet her somewhere and they could hang out beforehand. Shannon was hungry again so they met at Chipotle.

The two talked and there was definitely a great connection! After this interaction they began talking almost daily and had made plans to meet up a few more times over food!

Then they planned a day date! The first “official date” started at the 5am class at the gym, the to Palmer Park for a little hike, then to Denver Biscuit Company, then they watched a few movies and here is where Shannon went “100” as Red would say and went in for a kiss!

The two knew instantly they wanted to be a couple and so Shannon told her bosses at the gym out of respect, and the two were completely official to the world!

The two dated for just a few weeks and knew they were in love!

Red introduced Shannon to Zach and she adored him from the start!

Red gave Shannon a rubber promise ring that she could wear at both jobs at 6 months!

They moved in together in 10 months!

Red proposed on December 26th (which completely through Shannon off) at Buckle! This was not the intended place of proposal, but unfortunately Shannon wasn’t feeling well that day and Red knew that he needed to do it because he told so many people!

The proposal:

Shannon wasn’t feeling well so unfortunately she wasn’t in the best of moods. Red came in and brought her allergy medicine, and when she opened it, he asked “are you gonna take that right now?” She looked at him kind of annoyed and said “well yeah.” As they were talking more, she noticed one of her coworkers had her phone out and it looked like she was taking pictures of them. Shannon looked at her coworker, annoyed and said, “are you taking pictures of us?” Her coworker said “no geez Shannon!” The coworker then passed the phone off to Zack, but Shannon didn’t know Red asked Shannon how long have we been together? Shannon said “1 year 5 months”, Red said “1 year 5 months and 11 days.” Shannon said “ok did I miss something?” Red swayed back and forth looking nervous and then got down on one knee! As Shannon tossed the Allegra onto the Versace cologne, Red said very sweet things and asked her to marry him! She said through tears of joy “YES!” Then the couple hugged and shared a kiss as Zach shouted “I forgot to press record!” The couple laughed and were so excited to start the next chapter of their lives together! They knew that this proposal was fun and lighthearted just like their relationship!

The couple with Zach have had so many amazing memories together over the last 2 years and 2 months! They cannot wait to see what the future holds for them!
