Shannon and Derek met on March 7th during the pandemic, and it was love at first sight! They spent the whole weekend together. The first rose Derek got Shannon was on March 9th, which is International Women’s Day. This photo was taken just a week after we met. Shannon took Derek to her parents’ Lakehouse.

Derek took Shannon to Toronto for the day. They rode around the empty streets of Toronto on bikes and Derek found the perfect spot, the Toronto Marina, to ask Shannon to be his girlfriend.

Shannon moved in with Derek, 3 short months after they met. Derek had spent time renovating the house. Derek said she made his house a "home".

Derek was welcomed into the Pringle Christmas traditions. He was on the nice list that year! Fun fact: Christmas is Shannon and Derek's favourite holiday!

Derek started his company - Tuff Asphalt - which drives so much of his passion, dreams and ambition.

Shannon earned her Masters Degree in Dietetics, which helped her land a full-time job at Grand River Hospital. Plus their love survived 10 months of schooling done long distance.

A new family member, a beagle-poodle-spaniel, came to live with them. She is named River, after their street. She brings them constant love, is full of endless energy, and is the cutest dog ever!

Derek bought Shannon a snowboard for Christmas and began teaching her one of his favourite hobbies. It's "a work in progress"! Collingwood is a place they go to enjoy outdoor activites together!

The couple celebrated Derek’s sister Nikki and Dave’s wedding in Mexico! It was so special to witness their family growing together.

They got engaged in our "happy place". This photo is deceiving as Derek proposed at 7am that morning in the rain while walking River, both wearing crocs and Roots sweat pants!
