Why are you writing these?
We are writing these to try to answer some of the questions we keep hearing repeatedly. This way we can hopefully have a one stop shop for most questions
Where did you two meet? Was it romantic?
Actually, we met at work. He was a new Dangerous Goods Analyst based in Pittsburg. She was a Dangerous Goods Specialist based in Ohio. He was making a visit to her station and offered her his card. She took it, sucked her teeth, and walked away. Little did she know that would be the first time she would suck her teeth at her future husband. She then went on to call him almost every other day with a "problem" for him to help fix.
When and where will the wedding be held?
We are having the wedding ceremony May 1st, 2022 at 2 pm at Blue Mountain Mist Country Inn & Spa in Sevierville, TN. For those who are masters of GPS, the address is 1811 Pullen Road, Sevierville, TN 37862. Please arrive at least 30 minutes early for seating.

Is there a reception?
Of course! We will be having a reception at the same location starting at 4pm and going until about 9pm. There will be light refreshments served between the ceremony and the reception.
What will the weather be like?
Weather in Sevierville tends to be mild this time of year. Expect high temperatures to reach the mid 70's during the day and drop to the upper 40's to low 50's in the evening . There is usually only a small chance of rain during that time of year.
Wait! Why are you telling me about the weather? Is the wedding outside?
Yep! Be prepared to sit and not only enjoy the view of the beautiful people around you, but also the picturesque Smokey Mountains as a backdrop to the day.
What are the wedding colors?
We are both born in December and have chosen Tanzanite, in honor of our birth stone, and Silver as wedding colors
What do we wear?! What is the dress code?
We understand that people are all in different places in this crazy journey called life. We therefore ask that you wear what would be considered comfortable "Sunday's Best."
Can we bring a guest?
We are limited to a certain amount of chairs and room at the venue. While we have accounted for families, children, and significant others, we can not accommodate people who might arrive uninvited. We are asking that you do not share your invitation nor invite other people as the venue might turn them away.
So, are kids welcome?
Absolutely!! In fact we are hoping to have a kids table with activities for them during the refreshment hour and the reception (we know these things can be long and adults are boring), yard games and entertainment. We are also asking people to please be aware of the fact there will be children on the property.
Can we smoke?
Blue Mountain Mist is a non-smoking establishment. The ban is in place on smoking in all rooms, restaurants, and common facilities. Although smoking is not permitted within the hotel building itself, guests who smoke are permitted to do so outside in designated areas.
Will there be alcohol?
There will be a limited selection of beer and wine during refreshments and the reception.
Can we bring our own alcohol?
Yes. However, please know any alcohol brought will have to be surrendered to the bartenders on site. Tennessee law requires they handle all alcohol and any incidents involving the misuse can be counted against their license, so they tend to pushy on the subject.
Do we have to wear mask?
We understand Coronavirus is affecting people's lives to this day. However, due to the fact we will be outdoors, we will not require people to wear masks. This is not to say that if you want to wear a mask you can not. We encourage people to wear or not wear a mask as they are comfortable. Needless to say, however, if you are not feeling well in any way, we ask that you not attend and make others ill.
Is there anything else I need to know about the wedding?
This will be an interfaith ceremony with elements of Christianity and Judaism. The ceremony will begin at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday with seating starting 30 minutes prior. Refreshments and family games to follow at the bed & breakfast, with the reception staring at 4:00 P.M. In lieu of a receiving line, we will be greeting guests during the reception.
We know people will want to take photos throughout the day; however, please do not interfere with the ceremony or the professional photographer.
Where can we stay while near Sevierville?
Blocks of rooms have been reserved in Pigeon Forge. Mention the Gallagher Wedding for group rates. Please see the Accommodations tab for more information
Do we have to stay at one of these hotels?
Absolutely not! Being a high tourist destination, there are a number of options for accommodations in the Gatlinburg and Sevierville area. We would recommend, however, that if you are not going to stay in one of the hotel blocks, that you reserve a room soon as space does fill up quickly.
Will we have to pay for our stay?
Guests are responsible for all room charges. All rooms MUST be booked before March 15, 2022. After this date, the group room blocks are released to the general public and you will no longer have access to the special group rate.
Where are you registered?
We are not. While we appreciate everyone's generosity, we are trying to get rid of stuff as we transition into our new home! Our dogs may or may not be included depending how naughty they are being that particular day 😏. In lieu of gifts, if you look at our registry page, you will find a number of charities close to issues for both of us (including a honeymoon fund), you can donate to instead of getting us gifts.
No, really! We want to bring a gift!
Ok, look, we really prefer that you donate to charity.
I have another question!
Shannon and Stephen are available to ask questions to and most will know how to get in touch with us (Stephen may or may not direct you to Shannon). Just understand that as the wedding date gets closer, the Best Man and Maid of Honor will be taking over answering any and all questions and they get a tad protective.
