Are Children Allowed?
Yes! We want to be inclusive but please keep in mind this will be a lengthy event when planning to bring them.
Am I Allowed a Guest?
We are allowing a spouse or date per person. The only exception would be for families with children. You MUST RSVP ALL members of your party.
Can I take pictures and video with my phone?
We invite you to take photos and videos prior to the ceremony and during the reception but we ask that you put your devices down during the ceremony. We also ask that you don't use flash as it may interfere with the photographer.
Is there parking at the venue?
Yes, there is a private parking lot for the Elks Lodge connected to the building, there is also a public parking lot across the street next door to the Ames Public Library.
Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?
Given the time of year the wedding will be indoors, there will be a ceremony/reception area and a bar/cocktail lounge.
What is the attire?
This is a formal wedding so we ask that you wear formal/cocktail attire. Women can wear floor length, tea length, or midi dresses. Men should wear a suit, slacks and a dress shirt, or khakis. Please NO JEANS.
How will the food be served?
We are doing buffet style serve yourself meal option with meat and a vegetarian option with various sides. We will have a tired cake and sheet cake as well as make your own cotton candy for dessert!
Will there be alcohol?
Yes! We will have a selection of alcohol available through a cash bar. You may not bring any alcohol into the venue.
When is the RSVP deadline?
We ask that you RSVP as soon as you can, but the deadline is October 1, 2025.
Can I bring my pet?
No, pets are not allowed with the exception of working service animals.
What is the after party?
The after party is a chance to cut loose after the formal affair, come in your casual attire and play some video games, enjoy a drink and have some fun! This event does not allow children as Time Out is 21+ only.
What happens if I don't RSVP?
Unfortunately we will not have a spot for you. As our vendors such as the venue and our catering needs require a precise headcount, not RSVPing will mean we assume you are not coming and we will not be able to offer you a spot at our celebration.
When should I arrive?
We ask that you be at the venue thirty minutes prior to the invitation time so that you can be seated prior to the ceremony.
Is there a room block booked?
No, we are not booking a room block anywhere to allow everyone to pick a hotel of their choosing.
What should I NOT wear?
Wear what you are comfortable in within the confines of the dress code but we ask that you refrain from the colors red, white, or navy for the women.
