Sharon & Joey start dating after reconnecting over the summer. They had known each other for about two years from working as lifeguards at the city pools. They spend the last few weeks of summer getting to know each other and together decide they want to make the relationship work, despite going to college 6 hours away from each other. That fall, Sharon returns to SDSU for her senior year, and Joey to UMKC for his sophomore year.

Sharon graduates from SDSU and moves home to begin her job as an RN at DePaul Hospital in Bridgeton, MO. Joey managed to facetime Sharon EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. they were apart that school year.

Sharon & Joey get to enjoy their first entire summer together as a couple!!

Joey returns to UMKC for his junior year. Sharon adopts Roxy and makes frequent road trips to Kansas City to visit Joey. Thank GOD Roxy takes a liking to Joey.

Sharon & Joey fly to the desert for his Spring Break and rent a campervan to drive across Utah and hike "The Mighty 5" National Parks. They figure they're doing pretty well as a couple if they can survive together in a *very stinky* van for a week.

The couple takes a trip to the beach (and Buc-ees) with some friends before Joey starts his internship for the Department of Natural Resources in Jefferson City. He lives in Columbia, MO for the summer.

Joey returns to UMKC for his final year of school. This photo represents how excited everyone is to spend another school year apart. :(

Joey graduates from UMKC with a degree in Chemistry and a job lined up with MilliporeSigma in St. Louis!
