Lana and I met online, and after a few days of talking she invited me to join her with friends for a night out. As soon as I walked in, she was the first and only thing I saw. I was captivated by her, and have been since that day. We had a lovely night getting to know one another with our friends, and it was truly love at first sight.
We had our first official date a couple of days later. We connected immediately and felt as though we had known each other for years. That night, I told her I was deleting my dating app profile because I had found who I was looking for, to which she eagerly agreed. I had to go away a couple days later for a work trip, and she was all I could think about. I couldnt wait to get back home to see her.
As we got to know each other better, we discovered all the different ways our separate stories had crossed paths over the years. Having both grown up in San Mateo, CA, we have had many times where we were both in the same room together prior to meeting and never even knew it! We truly believe we were meant to be and met at exactly the right time.
From our first date, we knew there was something special between us. We both made our intentions very clear that we were dating to marry. We’ve never had to hesitate with one another. I knew from the start that she was the one, and I know that she felt the same.
We were together for about a year and a half before we got engaged. I proposed to Lana on a boat in the Foster City lagoon, where I setup a romantic picnic on the water. Lana’s favorite thing to do is picnic, so she thinks I did a very good job :) It was a beautiful moment with just the two of us and we cherish that moment together as the start of the rest of our lives. Afterwards, we had a couple amazing FaceTime calls to our families to share our good news with them.
We’d like to thank our families and friends for being such pivotal parts of our story, and such huge pieces of our lives. We love and appreciate you all!
