There are plenty of baseball spring training games to go to this time of year. The Cubs facility is one of the nicer ones, and it is one of the closer ones to the hotel.
There are plenty of golf courses nearby. Here are a few local suggestions:
Whirlwind Golf Club: high-end luxury course nearby Bear Creek Golf Complex: best bang for the buck, on the easier side, and close by Ocotillo Golf Club: intermediate course with a lot of pretty lakes, and close by We-Ko-Pa Golf Course: about 35 minutes away, one of the prettiest courses you’ll find, and a bit more challenging Quintero Golf Club: a little over 1 hour away, incredible views, and might see some wild life. Intermediate.
There are a ton of hiking areas near the hotel. The closest is probably on South Mountain. Wed recommend starting at Pima Canyon Trailhead to National and Mormon Trail, or Telegraph Pass for an easier route. Or if you are a little more adventurous, check out Superstition Mountain. An easier one is Hackberry Spring Springs Loop, or moderate, the Wave Cave Trail. You can find all hiking areas and information on alltrails.com.

There are plenty of Casinos nearby. We suggest going to Wild Horse pass if you want something close. The nicest casino which is a little further, is in Scottsdale, Talking Stick Casino.
Sedona is 1.5 hours away, beautiful red rocks, hiking, vortexes, and jeep tours. Plus, they have plenty of shopping and dining. It is about 10-15 degrees colder than Phoenix.
Flagstaff is 2 hours away, 7000 ft in elevation, has a ton of pine trees, skiing, snow tubing, and lots of local craft breweries, with a fun downtown atmosphere. It is about 25-30 degrees colder than Phoenix.
Grand Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, and Antelope Canyon are about 4-5 hours away by car. We’d recommend visiting all three places on your trip as they are close to each other. Make sure to book Antelope Canyon in advance. It is about 20-25 degrees colder than Phoenix.
Las Vegas is 4.5 hours away by car, with Joshua Tree National Park, and the Hoover Dam on the way. Vegas is self explanatory. Same climate as Phoenix.
