What do I wear for a "festive casual" dress code?
Look nice but be comfortable! Please chose items that make you feel your best. Moab is the desert, so please be aware of the natural elements. Most of the venue is hard floor, but there are surrounding outdoor areas with sand. I would caution against wearing any severely high & narrow heels :) It will get chilly, so please be prepared with a layer.
What kind of weather should I expect?
The historic average daytime temperature in Moab for late October / early November hovers around 60 degrees. Evenings can get around or below freezing. However, these are averages, so please be prepared for higher or lower temps :) Rain is generally not common in November.
Should I rent a car?
You are more than welcome to rent a car, and it could be helpful if you plan to do some serious exploration. There are a few rental companies in the area that can outfit you with a standard car or off road vehicle. If you are interested in driving yourself to the wedding, please be aware that it is a remote location!
How do the shuttles work for the venue? What if I want to leave early?
The shuttles will be picking guests up from town and dropping off at REV between 3 and 315 pm. Specific pickup time and location will be shared closer to the date. Shuttles will return guests to town once the reception finishes, departing between 945 and 10 pm. We are looking into having an earlier departure shuttle around 8, but no promises :)
If you are interested in having the flexibility of driving yourself, please be aware that the venue is in a remote location. The drive back to town is straightforward, but not well-lit. There are also no Ubers / taxis available!
We want to stay in an AirBnb or VRBO. What part of town do you recommend?
There is no "right or wrong" part of Moab to stay! However, depending on the experience you are hoping to have, certain areas may be more conducive. Please look at the picture of the map and refer to the following descriptions...
Looking at the map, you will see two differently-colored areas...
The light pink section is what I would call the "walkable downtown area." Any stays in-or-around this section will be within walking distance to shops, restaurants, bars, etc. In this section, you'll notice two markers; one is the location of the hotel block, the other is the after-party spot. Pros, you're near everything. Cons, there may be more foot traffic or noise depending on what's going on.
The light blue section is a more residential area on the outskirts of town. This is the general area where Mackay's mom lives. There are gated communities, a golf course, and condo complexes. Pros, you will be in a quieter area without the hustle and bustle of town. Cons, you will definitely need a car or a ride to get into town (unless you're very ambitious and want to walk for an hour).
Both areas offer access to hiking and walking routes and are surrounded by the beauty of Moab. Again, please just reach out to us with any questions :)
