This story begins in March of 2023, when a swipe on Hinge brought Shawn and Yesenia together. Neither of them knew it at the time, but a simple match would eventually lead them to forever. Their first date was at a coffee shop (even though neither of them drinks coffee:) ). They both ordered hot chocolate and Shawn drank his with a straw, which Yesi thought was interesting.

Life took them on different paths for a little while, but God’s plan was still unfolding. In the summer of 2024, they reconnected as friends with no pressure or expectations. Just two people who genuinely enjoyed being in each other’s lives again.

They spent a lot of time together, got to know each other’s families and grew closer and closer. As they learned more about each other, they began to fall in love.

On Valentine’s Day 2025, Shawn finally made it official and asked Yesenia to be his girlfriend. (Yesenia had been ready since, like, the first week of knowing him. Shawn just needed his typical 6–12 business months.)

Fast forward to October 4th. They had the perfect date lined up: their favorite sushi spot, a trip to the zoo, and dinner at Fogo de Chão. While visiting the elephants, Shawn surprised Yesi and got down on one knee to propose and asked “Yesi, will you say yes or si to the question of will you marry me?”. Good news, Yesi said yes!

Now here they are, building the life they always wanted, excited to celebrate their forever with the people they love most!

Esta historia comienza en marzo de 2023, cuando un swipe en Hinge unió a Shawn y Yesenia. Ninguno de los dos lo sabía en ese momento, pero un simple match eventualmente los llevaría al “para siempre”. Su primera cita fue en una cafetería (aunque ninguno de los dos toma café :) ). Ambos pidieron chocolate caliente y Shawn lo tomó con popote/sorbete, lo cual Yesi encontró interesante.

La vida los llevó por caminos diferentes por un tiempo, pero el plan de Dios seguía desenvolviéndose. En el verano de 2024, se reencontraron como amigos, sin presión ni expectativas. Solo dos personas que genuinamente disfrutaban volver a estar en la vida del otro.

Pasaron mucho tiempo juntos, conocieron a las familias del otro y se fueron acercando cada vez más. A medida que aprendían más el uno del otro, comenzaron a enamorarse.

El Día de San Valentín de 2025, Shawn finalmente lo hizo oficial y le pidió a Yesenia que fuera su novia. (Yesenia estaba lista desde, como, la primera semana de conocerlo. Shawn solo necesitaba sus típicos 6–12 meses hábiles).

Avancemos al 4 de octubre. Tenían planeada la cita perfecta: su lugar favorito de sushi, un paseo al zoológico y una cena en Fogo de Chão. Mientras visitaban a los elefantes, Shawn sorprendió a Yesi, se arrodilló para proponerle matrimonio y le preguntó: “Yesi, ¿dirás yes o sí a la pregunta de si quieres casarte conmigo?”. Buenas noticias: ¡Yesi dijo sí!

Y aquí están ahora, construyendo la vida que siempre quisieron, emocionados por celebrar su “para siempre” con las personas que más aman.
