Shawn and Sierra grew up in Pinellas County, Florida. They both attended Palm Harbor University High School. However, with Shawn being a year older and Sierra going to early college, they never crossed paths.

They went on to attend rival colleges, Shawn at Florida State University, and Sierra at the University of Florida. Who knew that a Seminole and a Gator could fall in love!

They finally met in Dothan while attending medical school at the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine. Since Sierra hated to drive and Shawn was in frequent need of gas money, they began to bond over trips back home for the holidays. They quickly connected over their shared roots and began dating at the end of their first year.

Their journey continued to Mobile, where they completed their clinical rotations. During their final year of medical school, they rolled the dice during a difficult residency match process and were able to couples' match at The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock.

During their first year of residency, Shawn and Sierra went on their first international trip to Europe. Between the canals of Amsterdam and the streets of Paris, he proposed to her in a tulip field in the village of Lisse, Netherlands.

They are currently completing their respective residencies of anesthesiology and pathology and are looking forward to building a future together!
