Depending on your airline check both Fort Walton Airport and Panama City Airport. I have found both airports have the same flights however one is always a bit cheaper than the other. And the drive time to Sandestin is the same, 45 minutes.

Honestly, it depends. Sandestin has hundreds of Airbnb and VRBO properties, of which most come with golf carts for you to get around. Sandestin has two sides, a Bay side and the Beach side. Shawn and I live on the Bay side where Baytowne Village and the Marina Bar is, two of our favorite areas. There are many more things to do on the Bay side than the Beach side and the golf cart drive time is only 5-7 minutes from the Bay to the Beach. But the Beach side and the Hilton is absolutely beautiful with breath taking views of the ocean. Not to mention The Beach House Restaurant, which is a local favorite and owned by one of our dear friends. Sandestin has a tram that runs throughout the properties going back and forth from the Bay and Beach side. So, you can stay at the hotel and take the tram over.

No. It will be a waste of money. Either take the transportation we have suggested from the airport or take an Uber which will run you about $100.00 for the trip from the airport to the resort. Once you get to the resort you will not need a car. The resort is a golf cart community and if you do not have a golf cart, the resort has a tram.
