Planning to go abroad
Reminder to all guests to get/check your passport as this is required for travel! If you do not have one or it is expired, you can apply for a new passport or renewal. If your passport expires 6 months after your travel date, it is recommended to renew now as some countries consider the passport invalid if expiring in the next 6 months!
Another thing to consider is that Italy (and many other countries) have different electrical outlets than we do in the US. Adapters can be bought on amazon here for the type of outlets found commonly throughout Italy:

Airfare
Poggibonsi is a small town in the heart of the Tuscan hills located about an hour train ride from the city of Florence, Italy.
You can choose to fly into Rome or Florence, Italy if you are not traveling elsewhere before the wedding. Flights to Rome may cost a bit less, but the train from Rome to Poggibonsi is about 4-6 hours (depending on stops). Flights to Florence may be a bit pricier but the train is only about 1 hour from Florence to Poggibonsi. The choice is yours but we recommend Florence!

General Transportation:
**Note that we will provide transportation on the night of the wedding from at least one pickup location to and from the castle. More details to come.**
- Poggibonsi is small and very walkable! The train station Poggibonsi-S. Gimignano is located in the heart of the city center. You can use the train to and from the airport and/or to visit the neighboring towns.

Hotels in Other Cities
If you join us in Florence after the wedding and are looking to stay at a hotel, we stayed at the Mercure Florence City Center (having trouble linking this)! We very much so enjoyed our stay in a spacious room with a balcony overlooking the nearby street. It was very close (<10 minute walk) to the train station and is a short walk (<10 minutes) to the Piazzo Del Duomo - one of the main squares! This hotel will hold your bags for you if you arrive before check-in time! Of course you can also choose a different hotel or an AirBnB.
In Rome, we stayed at the Grand Hotel Palatino and enjoyed a nice clean room with a window view of the street below! Very comfortable with the windows open in April/May which was lovely! This hotel also has a restaurant on the main floor where you can eat breakfast/dinner. Breakfast was good but we recommend picking up something from a local cafe! Another bonus is they will hold your bags for you if you arrive before check-in time!
