Chase:

"Long story, short. I drove to her parent's house. I was super nervous. I had this whole conversation planned to ask for her hand in marriage but when I got there the nerves hit and it all went out the window. I knocked on the door and her dad answered. He looked surprised that I was there but glad to see me. I told her dad that I got a ring and wanted to marry her. It was short and direct, the speech I had planned didn't happen. Her dad shook my hand, and said," Yes, I know she's been wanting this for awhile."

Shay:

"I got home the day of the proposal after running errands. When I got home, the place was clean. (My parents knew it was happening but didn't know when so they had to keep a secret that he had asked for their approval until it actually happened.) We were in the living room and I mentioned something about getting married one day. Then Chase said, "Well speaking of marriage " And he got down on one knee and he said, "There's never a right time...but I’ve wanted to ask you since the day we met." I was excited. Surprisingly, I didn’t cry. I was just so excited and slightly in shock. I did a little praise dance and of course I said, Yes!"

Chase:

"The ring, I picked out by myself. She had a scrapbook of rings and ideas that I looked at but I just picked what I thought she would like but something a little different. I was nervous. I told my mom and aunt a week before."
