Our wedding is in the height of the summer season on Whidbey Island making on-island accommodations limited. Please don't wait to book your accommodations!
Mukilteo / Clinton (20-minute crossing)
This is the closest route to get onto Whidbey Island if you are coming from the Seattle area or more South.
Remember to check the ferry schedule on the WSDOT website. It's a short 20 minute ferry ride but bring a book for the possibly wait in line. You'll see the ferry lane marked on the far right side of the road heading down the hill.
Important Tips:
Don't cut the line.
Bring a book.
Turn off your engine.
Have an "it will be what it will be" mindset. Go with the flow.
Port Townsend / Coupeville Ferry (40-minute crossing)
This is the closest route to get onto Whidbey Island if you are coming from the peninsula of Washington, home of the Olympic National Park. This will drop you off right next to Fort Casey on Whidbey Island.
Important Tips:
Don't cut the line.
Bring a book.
Turn off your engine.
Have an "it will be what it will be" mindset. Go with the flow.
If you want to avoid the ferries, there is one bridge that will get you onto the North end of Whidbey Island.
Before you hit Anacortes, you'll be able to take the Deception Bridge over Deception Pass. It is an absolutely majestic view. If you have time (and a Discover Pass), you can swing into Deception Pass State Park and do some exploring.
26 minutes to the venue.
Discover Pass and Reservation Required
31 minute drive to the venue BUT.....
Our personal favorite place to stay!!!
This 1907 lodge is built from madrona trees logged on the property. Nestled right on Penn Cove, you can sit around a fire or explore the grounds while you sip on your wine. It's a warm and unique getaway. The food is incredible as well so you don't even have to leave and can just make it your own weekend getaway.
Read the website room descriptions. Character is part of its charm.
Look for on-island vacations rentals! There are lots of incredible places to explore on island. Find a place you can relax and enjoy yourself!
Central Whidbey has some of our favorite locations to explore and Coupeville is a cute seaside village you'll find there. It may look VERY familiar if you have seen the 1998 movie Practical Magic.
The website can be slow to load but we are on island time now.
