There was this girl, Shayla, who was out with her friends Sam and Monica one night. They left the bars they had been hanging out at and went to Chucks Roadhouse to meet up with some of Sam’s friends - and Jordan was there. When Shayla walked in, Jordan immediately took notice of Shayla and did waste a moment to show her just how charming and charismatic he was, immediately introducing himself and offering to buy her a drink. She gladly accepted his offer, tossing back two tequila shots, which clearly left him pretty impressed because he asked Sam to give Shayla his number the next day (awww, cute).

Shayla and Jordan had their first date on September 27th, 2018, at Spagos and they immediately hit it off - they talked so much their pizza got cold (which is a pretty big deal if you know Jordan.) They ended the even with a walk down by the Detroit River where they shared their first kiss.

They started dating and travelled all of the Canadian provinces together within their first year together. The day they got back from their trip out west, they found out they were expecting!!

Within the next 9 months they purchased their first home together, and the same street Jordan grew up on in his home town of Leamington, and welcomed their beautiful baby girl, Aurora, into their lives.


3 years later they purchased their second home together and not 3 weeks after that they welcome their beautiful baby boy into their lives, Archer!

On March 23rd, 2024, they went on what seemed like a regular double date with their friends Heather and Aaron, when Jordan surprised Shayla and fooled her with a “what’s that over there,” while he got on one knee and proposed at the Detroit River.

Now, I say surprised, because she truly didn’t know it was happening at that moment… but if you know Jordan and Shayla, they’re both planners…. And they actually had already booked their wedding date and venue back in July of 2023!

Shayla and Jordan aren’t your traditional couple, and their love isn’t the traditional kind of love… it’s something much more special.

And their wedding will be too!
