Renaissance attire means that we would love if it you came dressed like you were going to a Renaissance Fair! Dress in your favorite period attire, or out of your favorite fantasy book or movie! Be a fairy, an elf, or just a barmaid if it catches your fancy!
How strict is the Renaissance dresscode?
Not strict at all! We want you to be comfortable, so wear whatever you would like to our wedding. If you would like to stick to the theme, we would love that, but it is by no means required.
What should I do if I am uncomfortable with a Queer Wedding?
We are open to anyone who is willing to be open and keep in mind that not every wedding matches what may seem most familiar to us in society. That being said, if you are uncomfortable with attending a wedding where queerness will be open and visible, and you cannot keep that to yourself, we ask that you please not attend. We are attempting to keep this a safe space for our chosen family, as well as born. We are always happy to answer any questions or clear up confusion beforehand, but we will not be tolerating any inappropriate comments or hatred at the event itself. If you have any concerns about what this means, please reach out to us.
What does a Queer Wedding mean?
We are referring to our wedding as a queer wedding as Jordan and Shayla both identify as queer, or as members of the LGBTQIA+ community. As such, many of our friends and those attending the wedding will also be part of the queer community. This wedding may seem untraditional, but it is about celebrating the joy in our union as a couple and who we both are in the world.
