Our Wedding

Michael Osgood and Shayla Van Dyken met at Dordt University through mutual friends. As their friend groups grew closer they got to know one another better. After Michael spent around a year and a half pursuing Shayla, she finally said yes to start dating him. This was one of the best decisions she ever made and Michael was relieved to finally get the answer he was looking for. They quickly started spending lots of time together at Dordt. This included going to the gym, attending sporting events, going to Bible studies, and trying to find ways to escape the boredom of the Midwest. Michael and Shayla also did numerous months of long distance after Michael graduated from Dordt. This continued until Shayla decided to complete her final semester of student teaching in Denver, CO. The couple dated for a year and four months before Michael got on one knee in Rocky Mountain National Park. The couple is now planning their wedding and completing a final year of their long-distance relationship. The Lord has blessed them with supportive families that have helped them along the way and give their blessing as this couple looks forward to getting married on June 28, 2025. Michael is currently working for All-State Insurance in Colorado and Shayla is currently a 1st grade teacher at Manhattan Christian in Montana.
