It is crazy for us to think that pretty soon we will have spent more of our lives together than apart. The two of us met our freshmen year of high school at our summer expedition when we were 13 years old! We were both training to play soccer for fall season, and happened to go out for a GCS group run early in the morning before the expedition day started. Calder finished the run first with his friend and to his surprise the next person to come through was the new girl. After a few weeks of chasing, Calder managed to trick Shay into their first date after telling her that their other friends "didn't show up and couldn't make it anymore". Next thing we knew we were seniors in high school and still going strong... When we hit college Calder went and played lacrosse at Loyola University of Maryland (Go Hounds!) and Shay went to play at the University of Maryland (OATAAT!). Whether it was their undeniable connection, busy schedules, or the bet that Shay made with her mom that if the two made it through college she would take them to Greece, Shay and Calder managed to stay together and come out of those 4 years even stronger. We now live together in Locust point and are extremely happy and ready to celebrate these past chapters of our love story while beginning to write the next!
