Braxton and Shayleigh first met in May 2019 during a training exercise at KVC Hospitals in Hays, Kansas. Both were attending Fort Hays State University at that time and working as behavior technicians at the children's psychiatric hospital. Braxton was too shy to approach Shayleigh at work or the local sports bar and grill, but thankfully, by the end of the summer, his friends convinced him to slide into her dm's.

After a few weeks of wonderful dates, that mostly consisted of Shayleigh beating Braxton at mini golf, Braxton asked Shayleigh to be his girlfriend. And the rest is history.

Braxton and Shayleigh have spent the past few years completing their degrees, raising two beautiful children (Asher and Brooklyn), and settling down in small town Kansas. One of their favorite memories together is singing along to the TMNT soundtrack as a family on the ride home from a Halloween festival at Asher's school, loud and very off-key.

Braxton proposed to Shayleigh on an ordinary Tuesday night in January, after Asher's basketball practice. Shayleigh was sitting on the couch, about to chow down on some cheddar jalepeno Cheetos when she turned around to see Braxton on one knee with a ring in hand. Needless to say, Shayleigh said yes, and the two celebrated with mimosas.
