Our Wedding

During the wonderful Christmas holiday season of 2016, Jake and Shea were informally introduced to each other through two mutual friends, (Casendra and Megan), through a video text message that Jake sent to entice Shea’s interest. With what would seem like an innocent, playful introduction to nothing else but a friendship, the two began texting, with Jake’s first unrefined, silly gesture reference to a State Farm commercial.&nbsp; A simple text transformed into a phone call, which turned into a first date pickup for a night at Suite 100 from Shea’s parent’s house (Not to mention Jake met Shea’s parents first). At the time, Shea was living with her parents and had just moved back home. She wasn’t entirely looking, but I think we all know these things happen when you least expect it!&nbsp; The date went so spectacular, that at the end of the night when Jake dropped her off like the gentleman he was, Shea tried to kiss him at the door….which he denied her with a simple face-pull...out of respect for her parents, thinking they were watching out of the window.&nbsp; A few dates down the road came a night at Asia Gardens...some of the best wings in town with a side of the best karaoke song Jake could sing to Shea: By Inner Circle- SWEAT. He sang it to her and to be very frank, the performance was one Shea would remember for all of time. If it wasn’t his voice, it must have been the pheromones! Shea and Jake have spent the past FOUR years getting to know each other- a house, camper, and a new brother for Cyrus (Dog), created a happy, fulfilled family of four.&nbsp;

HOW WE MET

Jake took many avenues at an attempt to plan for a snow machine ride to Spencer Glacier, coordinating with Shea’s best friend for a fun afternoon of Champagne popping on ice, but it was a failed attempt.&nbsp; He also made an attempt to rent a cabin in Girdwood, having friends and family meet after the proposal, but that also failed. With all of Jake’s attempts to put a ring on it failing, he decided to do something more meaningful than any idea he created- He made her favorite meal at home (Steak Fettuccine Alfredo). The poster board dinner menu may have given it away, but she was as ecstatic as any woman with a ring on her finger could be (There’s a video that Jake will never show)!&nbsp; Friends came to celebrate with whiskey and champagne… and KARAOKE! Who would have thought.&nbsp; Also not to mention, he purposefully asked Shea on Drew Brees’ birthday so he would never forget their engagement date.&nbsp; Everything has been nothing short of amazing, and after over FOUR years together, we cannot wait to dance the night away with all of you! We’re to infinity and beyond excited, and before you know it, you’ll be reaching for a glass of champagne, ringing the bells for another, and another...and another! 😉

Jake was born in Hawaii, Raised in Alaska by a single mother with two other siblings - Brandon and Ariana and met his three other brothers Rodney, Joey and Jeff when he was a kid. 

Jake studied Marketing in Business, Advertising in Journalism at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and moved back home to Alaska to be with family.  His career is in Sports Medicine - Territory manager of a Medical Device Company. His hobbies include fishing, basketball, wakeboarding, gardening, painting and of course, football - NEW ORLEANS SAINTS! Additionally, when he's not working, he has a strong passion for music and events, which he chooses to utilize his free time with organizing grown-up roller skating parties throughout the many unique areas of Anchorage. Jake loves to have a few nice bottles of Whiskey, wine, and champagne around the house to entertain with when having guests over. 
If you know him, you definitely know who his family is, because he keeps them close.

Born and raised in the Great State of Alaska, Shea was like typical Alaskan kids and ventured off for adventure and to attend college out of state. She ventured down to Oregon (SOU) for 2 years before transferring to the University of Idaho and graduating December 2011! GO VANDALS! Despite many applications, waitlists, and rejections Shea finally got her shot at PT school where she traveled across the country to New York to attend PT school at Clarkson University in Potsdam! After 3 challenging years graduation day came in May of 2016 and passing her boards in July. Fast forward almost 5 years, Shea is still working at her first ever real adult job where she is a physical therapist in a skilled nursing facility. When she isn’t working she has found the beat and rhythm rides at her local cycle house, tap backs and elbow drops are her favorite moves! She is a proud dog mom to her boys Cyrus and Crixus, where she enjoys walks around the hood. Brunch on the weekends with her girls is also a hobby that requires lots of champagne consumption with good food. When not being a socialite, Shea enjoys watching movies on the couch with Jake where they nerd out into Marvel fantasy or Shea’s preferred Harry Potter trilogy.

Upper&nbsp;Winner Creek Trail leads 9 miles through high country into spectacular mountains. It’s a stunning out-and-back hike…or you can go over Berry Pass, hike down to the Twentymile River, and packraft out.

Sally Marinucci- Maid of Honor Or as Shea calls her: Nucci. Sally and Shea have known each other since the beginning of CCD and became good friends thanks to band class in 8th grade where Shea was envious of Sally’s all white gap sweat suit and blue clarinet. Despite living apart for some time, Sally in AZ or Shea in NY, Sally was always just a phone call away. Once back from PT school Shea moved in with Sally where Sally was the best roommate and morning workout partner. Friendship have blossomed into extended family and Shea considers the whole Marinucci fam her own, Sally has been nothing but the best friend and girl could ask for supporting and loving Shea through all of life’s challenges.

Ryan Ferris- Bridesmaid(Ryry) was the cool new girl in 8th grade that moved back to Alaska from Lithuania and of course Shea had to become friends! It wasn’t till high school that their friendship took off on top of maybe some young and dumb bad decisions that led them (mostly Shea) into a period of long moments of grounding. Despite Ryan currently living in Oregon to pursue her career Shea admires Ryan’s drive to excel and follow her dreams/ passion as she has recently completed pharmacy school. Now Shea just wishes she would move home!

Hayley Youngman- BridesmaidHayley, better known as Hay, became bests thanks to their love of soccer. Hayley played up onto Shea’s team where they spent practically every day of summer vacation together. Field, home for Cesar salads and the OC tv show, and back to field. Thanks to soccer not only did Shea and Hayley become bests but their parents are also besties! Hayley’s family became extended family where camping trips and the 4th of July in Seward became tradition.&nbsp;

Megan Flemming- BridesmaidShea’s fabulous pink haired friend and life of the party. Shea and Megan became friends thanks to Rabbit Creeks Summer Fun Club summer camp the summer of 2011. Megan was always down for adventure and activities! She would invite Shea to all of her outdoor fires, camping trips, and their favorite Karaoke nights at Asia Garden. When Shea had to end the best job ever to leave for PT school, Megan was the best at keeping in touch and rooting for her success! Shea thanks Megan for many late night FaceTimes and inspirational words to help her get through PT school.

Ariana Yambaw- Bridesmaid/ grooms sister Shea’s sister she always wanted! Ariana and Shea first met one night at the fabulous Asia Garden establishment thanks to Jake’s serenade that drew Ariana down to the dance floor. The two parties did not know either was there and it ended up being Shea and Ariana's first meeting! Since that night many camping, fishing, and holidays have occurred and Shea is ecstatic to have such a Badass Alaskan Chick as family, where she can out hunt and fish anyone while rocking some heels!

Amanda Enzbigilis- BridesmaidShea’s favorite redhead (Minus Lisa, Jakes mom). Amanda became Shea’s Best PT friend thanks to 3 fabulous years in PT school and sharing a wall to their off campus housing unit. Shea recalls their first meeting of going outside on their patio to find Amanda and 2 other PT girls making margaritas with Amanda being in a sticky tequila mess. She was the bubbly hilarious person you wanted to be around as well as one of the smartest to help Shea get through PT school (Srish, Teri, Meg, and Emily too). Shea’s watched Amanda move from Chicago to Austin, and despite many miles between Shea can always count on Amanda for a fun FaceTime catch up and work vent sessions.

Brandon Miles- Best Man/ Grooms Brother  This guy is what every brother should be: The best of the best. Brandon “Boobie” is three years younger, and he did what every little brother closest to age would do- Challenge Jake at everything. He played college football at Bemidji State in Minnesota, graduated, then moved to Las Vegas with Jake after college. He’s the most intelligent and thoughtful person, and Jake does not make any major decisions without consulting with him first. In fact, they both have a common interest in investing, so they’ve teamed up for some lucrative insider trading! Currently living the beach life in Hermosa Beach, CA, Jake has only one goal- to convince him to move back to Alaska. Maybe after the wedding! Jake needs everyone to do one thing- Ask him to move back to Alaska to complete the family reunion.

Rodney Thompson- Best Man/ Grooms brother The “O.G.”- Jake and Rodney met in the 10th grade after Jake transferred from Dimond to West High School. At first, Rodney did not care too much about the groom. With both playing the same sports, trash talking did occur- And then one day, they both stayed in during lunch hour to play basketball. After that day, respect was given from both sides; but trash talking still occurs to this day. There’s not a single day that goes by that they don’t talk to each other. .  Rodney is also another brother Jake consults with when making major decisions (Wedding and moving back to Alaska).  He’s what the commoners call a “Freak athlete.” Rodney is a Biomed technician and also helps people make healthier decisions giving personal training lessons after work. Lastly, this dude is a complete clown- hands down one of the funniest people Jake has had the pleasure to be around. If you’re looking for a good time at the wedding, talk to all the groomsmen, but definitely see him on the dance floor or just hover around him when he’s talking- You’ll be sure to cry-laugh.

J.D. Pault- Brother Born & raised in Kenai, Jake met JD in the early years of high school through Boobie at the Kenai rec center playing basketball during Xmas break visiting family. They became better friends attending college together at UNLV. Also residing in Hermosa beach, Jake and JD make time every summer in Alaska for fishing excursions on the Kenai, and snowboarding sessions at Alyeska every January. JD has an infectious laugh and he brings positivity to every room he walks in. He’s the biggest fan of Rodney T & Lil’ Dice, and still sings “Nice Pants” to this day. In fact, make sure and introduce yourself to him- he won’t mind freestyling to a beat if you tell the DJ to play an instrumental.  JD taught Jake how to walk bees.

Richard Alexander- Brother Born & raised in Kenai, Richard met Jake during the first semester of college in Las Vegas. This guy has been nothing less than a brother to Jake and has always made sure Jake was taken care of. Richard’s creative ideas have always inspired Jake. In fact, he’s the guy responsible for helping make Down & Derby (Rollerskating event) possible in Alaska! Richard has been there for every one of Jake’s important moments in life and he couldn’t be happier to have Richard by his side. Fun fact- Richard was once a double for Owen Wilson in Wedding Crashers, which happens to be one of Jake’s all-time favorite movies!

Jeff Bailey- Brother Jake and Jeff met when they were very young. Jake knew he cared about him very much after Jeff broke his elbow when he was 10 years old, 4-wheeling with Boobie. Jeff and his family were also a reason why Jake moved back home. He made it possible by getting him a job on the slope in the oil field.  One of the most fondest, greatest memories they both hold dear to their hearts come from fighting/falling down the stairs over Jeff losing Jake’s Abercrombie vest. Shortly after, it turned into an item throwing fest- a #2 pencil into Jeff’s arm.  During the football season, Jake and Jeff regularly speak on NFC South conference rivalry (Tampa Bay fan). Jeff is Jake’s bag throwing teammate, and this is the first sport they both look forward to after the winter season. Also, just a little hint- Highly recommend DO NOT inner- tube behind his boat.

Joey Bolivar- Brother  Jake met Joey in his senior year of high school through Rodney, who is Joey’s biological brother. He was a few years older, which meant he always made sure his younger brothers were taken care of, buying the two grab-a-dab burgers, walking distance from the house. This guy is a big fan of rye whiskey, Robinhood stocks, and unfortunately, the Dallas Cowboys. Joey leads a great example of what a great father is, and Jake admires this, hoping he’s as good of a father he is!

Kristopher Wisthoff- Brother  Beast and Jake have been friends since high school. Wherever Jake lived, Kristopher has always been an easy phone call away. Jake has always admired Beast’s family values and hopes to one day exemplify a great father as beast has with his family.  A 21-year friendship in the making, Jake and Kris both have common interests with DIY projects, grill-offs and digital horse racing. You’ll catch his attention by saying the key word, “Zed Run.”

Jesse Kristovich- Brother Jake met Jesse during the oilfield days. A workout, snowboarding, F-street steak sandwich eating, up to no good, mischief finding person any real brother would want to have around. Jesse has always made Jake a priority, no matter what the circumstance. They’ve known each other for 8 years, but that’s more than enough to have him by Jake’s side on his day. The Seahawks are his people, but don’t let that fool you- he’s still a good guy. Be sure to shake this guy’s hand, he’s a real one!
