It was just two short lived conversations by mere acquaintances in Tuscaloosa. Filled with small talk and a few laughs, it was the start of their forever&ever love!

The two called Tuscaloosa home for their college careers and Friday nights from January to May were not spent entirely far apart from one another. Shea was flipping in Coleman Coliseum (Friday Night Heights! IYKYK!) & right across the front Plaza, Tyler pitched for the Tide as the Friday night starter. It was rare for us to ever watch the other - except one particular Friday in 2018.

Tylers parents were watching Alabama Gymnastics on TV, searching for Tyler in the crowd. He was a freshman, Shea was a junior. The TV, out of no where, paused without purpose & was frozen on a bama gymnast competing on floor with part of the on-looking crowd in the background. They were pretty quickly able to see that it was Tyler & his friends in the crowd and snapped a photo and that was that. Come to realize all these years later, the girl competing in the freeze frame just so happened to be the future Mrs. Ras!

Shea graduated in the Spring of 2020 and moved to Nashville following her time at Alabama & Tyler began his professional baseball career. Despite the many miles between them and minimal former interactions, the Lord was at work in writing their love story.

After a few winks from the Lord, Tyler reached out to Shea. It was the (second) easiest yes ever when Tyler asked Shea to meet him in NYC for their first date. She, quite literally, never booked a flight so quickly in her life... and if you know Shea at all, she books A LOT of flights.

They spent the next two years falling in love, navigating baseball life & learning rather quickly just how intentionally the Lord had created their story.

Two years to the date of their first date in NYC, Tyler got down on one knee in Central Park. It was the easiest yes, ever!!!

So here's to the abundance of God winks, the most intentional invisible string & the absolute joy ahead for the Rases. We are overjoyed to celebrate with YOU!
