It all started in 2018.

Joshua and Shealyn were both managers at Red Robin when they met each other. A few months later they began working at the same restaurant together. Let’s just say that was a rocky start to their relationship. Both being competitive and driven they began competing for the same promotion. Let’s just say they weren’t much of friends during this time.

Fast forward about 6 months they decided to settle their differences and that’s when

the love story all began.

A few short months into their relationship Joshua was promoted and moved back home to the Bay Area. This is when Shealyn took a leap of faith and accepted his invitation to move away with him.

Throughout this time of living together Joshua and Shealyn learned a lot about living together. They learned how they both clean differently, how Joshua folds towels

wrong and eventually changed their habits to match each other's.

2020 was a challenging year for the couple. They were navigating COVID shutdowns

together and had some ups and downs for about a year.

In late 2021 Shealyn made a huge career change and moved away to Florida to test

her feet in a new company (Topgolf). Joshua helped her pack up and the couple

drove cross country together exploring many states and destinations on their

way. During the time Shealyn was in Florida the couple quickly learned the challenges of being longgg distance (3000 miles away) and how to stay connected with each other. Joshua visited very often and during this time they were able to explore many areas of Florida together and enjoy the few days at a time they could get. After about a year of this adventure Shealyn was promoted and able to move back home to San Jose.

Once Shealyn moved back the couple decided to continue their journey living in Downtown San Jose a location they loved. Quickly after settling into their new home they were pleasantly surprised to find out Baby Bell would arriving in May 2024. The couple excitedly began to plan their new lives as soon to be parents. They learned how to become parents and a strong family through many trials of long nights and early mornings with a newborn baby.

In October 2024 Joshua planned out a beautiful picnic for Shealyn and himself at the San Jose Rose Garden. He nervously had a gorgeous ring hidden from Shealyn for about 2 weeks as he planned how to propose to her. With the help of Aaron and Alana the three crafted a plan to create a memorable moment for Shealyn, Carter and Joshua. As Joshua navigated Shealyn through the Rose Garden they came upon the beautiful picnic arrangement and Joshua proposed. Shealyn quickly said yes and the couple celebrated their engagement in the garden with some bubbles and snacks.

And now we are here getting married in September 2024 with all of our closest family and friends.
