We met on Catholicmatch.com (yep, this starts online) and Sergio asked me out for coffee…which turned into boba when he found out I had never had it. We had a nice time and ended up having dinner at La Madeline that night as well. Sergio asked me if I would like to go out again, and of course I said yes.

Over the next week, Sergio seemed MIA, but I kept texting. Finally, on the night we were supposed to go out, Sergio called and said he didn’t think it was a good idea.

I was heartbroken, but I really liked Sergio so I decided to just pray on it and see where things went.

We would talk every day. As friends, we started doing things together and would often talk about our faith and our kiddos. We went to Mass with each other on a few different occasions and our kids met each other as well.

One day, I had a bad day and Sergio was with me through everything. I knew right that moment that God had put him in my life to be there for me during that time. I didn’t know if things would go further, but I knew that I had found one of my best friends.

In order to help raise my spirits, we planned a trip to Dauphin Island, AL with all of our kiddos. It worked. I had a blast and so did our kids.

Sergio and I would wake early and say morning prayer together throughout the trip. He says this is the moment when he realized that he did like me.

When we came home, we officially started dating and the rest is history….
