What is the "adventure" event between the ceremony and dinner?

This is an opportunity to go play on the mountain! Copper Mountain offers a variety of fun activities on site including mountain biking, hiking, golf, disc golf, go-karts, obstacle course, and more. Also, there are many activities within a 15 minute drive including fly fishing, Dillon lake, Breckenridge, etc. See the activities tab for more info.

Why is our wedding formatted differently from others?

Our wedding is a celebration of what we love to do together. We want to give our guests an opportunity to explore the wonderful state we love by sharing our favorite activities.

Are kids invited to the wedding?

We respectfully request no children under 21 for our wedding day.

What is going to be the flow of the wedding day?

The ceremony starts at Copper Chapel at 2:30 and go to about 3:00. After the ceremony there will be an opportunity for you to grab snacks to fuel your adventure! After you're sufficiently fueled you'll head to the mountain to do various activities. The lifts close at 4 so we recommend that you start with a chair lift ride and go up to ~12,000ft to see the beautiful views. We will adventure from around 3:30- 6ish. Drinks will start around 6- 6:30 so that will give you some time to get showered and changed before dinner at 7:15ish. If you want to adventure up until dinner and not change that's cool too. Everything in Copper is a 5-10 minute walk so there shouldn't be any rush to get things done.

What if I don't want to adventure?

If you don't want to adventure or you've decided you'd rather catch up with family, hear embarrassing stories about Joe and Shelby, or are tired from your adventure then you can head to the Conference Center and hang out there until dinner.

Bring your mountain bike!

As many of you know we love to mountain bike! We are going to plan on taking advantage of Copper's Gravity fed trails Sunday August, 3rd. We want to bike with as many of you as possible and can be persuaded to bike on any of the other days that you'll be on the mountain.

Copper sits at 9,712 feet above sea level. What can I do to prevent altitude sickness?

Higher altitudes have less oxygen available in the air. Going directly from sea level to 10,000 feet of elevation can cause altitude sickness for some people, with symptoms such as headache and fatigue. Staying well hydrated significantly reduces your chances of experiencing these symptoms.

Is altitude REALLY going to affect my alcohol consumption?

Yes. With reduced oxygen, your body will not process alcohol as effectively as at sea level. Expect two or three drinks to feel more like four or five.

Is it cold in the mountains?

It is significantly cooler up in the mountains. In early August you should expect highs in the 70s and temperatures in the 40s overnight. You will likely want a jacket in the evenings.
