Bumble is a dating app where the women have to message the guy first if they matched. When Shelby received the notification in January of 2020 that Bryan also swiped right on her, she immediately sent his dating profile to her friend, Raven, who with her help tried to Facebook stalk Bryan. They found his profile and began to investigate. He seems like a good guy, Raven told her. Shelby still felt reluctant, but gave love a shot and messaged him. When they were messaging, Shelby told him about how she has a 3 year old son, and was expecting her first daughter in a month. She explained her story, thinking Bryan would bolt after hearing it. But he didn’t, in fact, every day they talked he would make it a point to ask how the kids were doing.
They had talked for a few weeks, and eventually Bryan asked to go on a date. Shelby said she wasn’t ready just yet, but she would still like to talk and get to know each other. Bryan said that’s fine, take as long as you want, I’ll be here when you’re ready. And so they began getting to know each other.
Elizabeth was born, January 27th, 2020. Shelby & Bryan after weeks, finally went on their first date on February 15th, 2020. And Bryan was on his phone the whole time *see picture*. KIDDING! The first date happened, and then COVID-19 happened, and the world shut down. But they didn’t let that stop them. They would video chat once her kids were asleep and would watch live PD “together”. Since school was out, and sports were cancelled Bryan was able to spend more time than he normally had with Shelby and eventually, the kids.
August of 2020, Shelby and the kids moved to Bluffton where Bryan lived and rented a home together.
