Our Wedding

…as college roommates at George Fox University! Shelby first encountered Lucy crying in the corner on move in day, and Lucy’s first impression of Shelby was that she, “looked like someone who would scrapbook.” After 5 years of friendship, it became clear that there was more to our story. Early in 2020, it became pretty clear this was the real deal. One pandemic, a dog, and 2 trips to Disneyland later, Lucy proposed in our living room in April of 2023. We’ve known each other for over a decade, and we cannot wait to spend forever together!

We met the old fashioned way…

On a beautifully temperate day in the Mt. Hood wilderness, we exchanged vows joined by our amazing photographer, @unleashedelopements, and our beloved companion, Dolly. The day was the perfect encapsulation of our relationship. We shared a slow morning getting ready eating bagels and doing a crossword. We got ready together, wandered into the forest, popped bubbly by the river, and enjoyed an evening of pizza, dancing, and capped the night in the hot tub. Our day was truly a dream, and we felt so much love from friends and family before, during, and in the days after. We plan to have a celebration with friends and family in the months to come, and we are looking forward to planning a honeymoon to Japan in the near future 💚🩷
