It all began back in January 2021, though the roots of our story go much deeper. Austin and Shelby first crossed paths as classmates at Highland High School. Life took them in different directions after graduation, but fate had other plans—and years later, their paths reconnected in the most unexpected and wonderful way.For two years, they navigated a long-distance relationship, with Shelby living nearly two hours away. Despite the miles between them, their love only grew stronger. In 2023, they took a big step and bought their first home together in Highland, pouring their hearts into restoring it side by side.After four beautiful years of love, laughter, and adventure, Austin asked Shelby to be his forever in the magical Shawnee National Forest on May 2nd, 2025. And of course—she said yes!Now, they’re so excited to begin this next chapter together, surrounded by all the people they love most.

Samantha and Shelby have been best friends since elementary school and partners in crime ever since. For the past 18 years, they’ve shared everything from childhood sleepovers to real-life milestones, growing closer with each adventure. Their bond goes far beyond friendship, more like chosen sisters. Shelby couldn’t imagine saying 'I do' without her and is so thankful to have a lifelong best friend standing with her as she begins this next exciting chapter.

Samantha Szoke 

Mike and Austin go back to college, where they first met as hallway neighbors in the freshman dorms. It didn’t take long for them to become close friends, and by sophomore year, they were roommates, a decision that stuck all the way through graduation in 2018. They have shared countless memories, faced life’s ups and downs together, and through it all, they always had each other’s backs. Austin couldn’t imagine standing up there without him by his side.

Mike Johnson 

Big sister and best friend, Tara has been Shelby’s rock through every season of life, whether it was cheering her on, giving tough love, or just making sure she didn’t do anything too crazy (most of the time). Through every laugh, every tear, and every questionable decision, Tara’s been the steady, loving force Shelby could always count on. Honestly, Shelby doesn’t know how she survived without her. Shelby feels so lucky to have her not just as a bridesmaid, but as her sister forever.

Tara Townzen 

Austin met Robby at McKendree University over a casual game of pool in the "Lair". Robby quickly welcomed him and introduced him to the brotherhood that would shape much of his college experience. What started as late-night hangouts and friendly competition grew into a friendship built on loyalty, laughter, and trust. Robby’s been a true brother ever since, and Austin is honored to have him standing beside him on such a meaningful day.

Kailey and Shelby have been best friends since 2009, when middle school was ruled by Silly Bandz, side bangs, and dramatic Facebook statuses. Whether she’s calming Shelby down or cracking a joke at the worst possible (but funniest) moment, she always knows exactly what’s needed. Shelby truly couldn’t imagine this day without her middle school soulmate, the one who’s been there through it all and still shows up with love, loyalty, and snacks.

Kailey Allison 

Austin and Shane met in middle school, but it was the high school bass fishing team that really brought them together. Long days on the lake led to great conversations, plenty of laughs, and a lasting bond. They continued fishing together at McKendree University on the collegiate team, building memories along the way. Austin is grateful for Shane’s friendship over the years and honored to have him standing beside him on this special day.

Shane Campbell 

Madison (aka Madi) started as Mike’s girlfriend but quickly became one of Shelby’s closest friends, bonding over Taylor Swift, favorite books, and chaotic chats. She’s the ‘You Belong With Me’ to Shelby’s ‘Love Story,’ always ready to scream-sing Taylor and analyze every lyric. Shelby feels so lucky to have her as a bridesmaid and can’t wait to dance the night away to Taylor Swift, of course!

Madison Love 

Austin met Mando at McKendree University through mutual friends, and they hit it off right away. From late-night hangouts and video game battles to concerts and unforgettable moments, their friendship has only grown stronger over the years. Austin was honored to stand by Mando on his big day, and now he's grateful to have Mando by his side on his. There’s no better friend to share life’s biggest moments with.
