Andrew and Shelby met on her first day of work at an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) clinic, shortly after she moved to the metro Detroit area for graduate school. Shelby was new to the area, and did not have many people to call when her and her roommate’s car died, late at night, at a nearby park. Shelby reluctantly called Andrew for help, as she knew he lived close by. Andrew came and saved the day, which was the beginning of a sweet friendship. A few weeks later, Andrew took Shelby on their first date, and the rest is history!

Shelby and Andrew dated for about two years before he followed her back to Grand Rapids, and they moved into their first apartment together. Seven months later, Andrew proposed at the top of the JW Marriott in downtown Grand Rapids, surrounded by both of their families. They have been together for about three and a half years and are so excited for the start of forever on June 29, 2024.
