Our Wedding

Shelby and Bryson's love story is one for the romance book lovers. Their journey together began not in some romantic setting, but rather on the greens of Woodbridge Golf Course. As coworkers, their initial interactions were anything but ideal. Though they both attended Wylie High School they were never close. Shelby thought Bryson was condescending, while Bryson saw Shelby as overly meticulous. Durning their shifts together they would bicker to each other over who would collect golf balls in the broken-down picker and who was going to clean carts. To this day they still argue over who actually left the cart garage door up after they closed for the night. Little did they know, these initial perceptions would evolve dramatically over time. Conversations that started off about work soon delved into shared interests, dreams, and aspirations.In the summer of 2020, a coworker asked Shelby who she would date from work. She said Bryson would not be that bad to date. Later that week he struck up a conversation. Only a few days later, she asked him out on a date. Finally, two weeks after that original date, while picking up pizza for Bryson’s high school graduation party, Shelby looked at Bryson and said, “Hey my mom is asking me if we are dating. So do you wanna be my boyfriend?”&nbsp;Their first year together was a whirlwind of romance and young love. They shared a love of animation and music. They laughed over horrible bosses and annoying schoolwork. They had sing offs in the Whataburger Drive Thru at 12am. Shelby and Bryson spent so much time together, they both started to enjoy not just each other, but their respective families. Bryson grew close with Chris and Jennifer and spent many days on the golf course with Brady. He was even the first ever person to be invited to the Jennings house for a Cowboys football game. Shelby loved talking science with Joe, and playing dress up with Julia, and talking all the school gossip with PaizLee. Shelby even has gone rock climbing with Kiersten. With family as one of their core values, it was a blessing to find support in their new in-laws.&nbsp;By the time Shelby was preparing to leave for Oklahoma State University to pursue her undergraduate degree, there was undeniable love between them. Their time apart was challenging, to say the least. Long-distance relationships have a way of testing even the strongest bonds, but Shelby and Bryson were determined. Bryson spent countless hours in the car driving to and from Stillwater while holding down a full-time job. He worked hard to provide for the time after college. There were late-night phone calls, surprise visits, and hours upon hours of video calls that kept their connection alive. Shelby poured her heart into earning her undergrad in Marketing, while Bryson worked tirelessly to plan their future. They knew that every moment they spent apart brought them one step closer to the life they envisioned together.In November of Shelby’s Senior year and on her 21st birthday, Bryson proposed in front of the Oklahoma State University‘s library. At 2:00 p.m. on a Monday afternoon, Shelby said yes with a giant smile on her face. They spent the final 6 months of Shelby’s college life dreaming of a wedding and their upcoming joining of households.

Shelby and Katie have been made up cousins since Katie was born. For twenty years their families shared a cul-de-sac so it was only natural for Shelby to choose her as her Maid of Honor. Katie is currently a Junior at Wylie High School where she is on the robotics team and softball team. She loves Dr. Pepper and marshmallows.

Morgan and Shelby meet in Mrs. Simmons 2nd grade class where they bonded over their share loved of books. Through the years the girls experienced high school choir concerts, Girl Scout events and always being there for each other.  Morgan graduated with a degree is Nutritional Science from the University of Texas. She loves plants and painting.

Kiresten is one of Bryson's younger sisters and one of Bryson's closest friends. Being so close in age has created a special bond for these  siblings. Kiresten is currently pursuing a nursing degree at Texas Womans University. She enjoys rock climbing and Mexican food.

PaizLee is the middle child in the Jurik family. She is a 6th grader who loves to sing and attend concerts. She is big into sleepovers and time with her sister. She is great with makeup and has a better skincare routine than the entire bridal party. She has the best fashion sense of any 12 year old you will ever met.

Julia is the baby of Bryson's family. She has fiery red hair and a very large personality. Her favorite things to do are to watch Disney movies and boss everyone around. She may be the smallest, but she will make her presence known.

Brady is the only sibling of Shelby. Brady's friendship with Bryson started back when they played golf together in 2016 on the Woodbridge Warriors. In high school they played together on the same golf team. Brady is currently pursuing his Fire Science degree at Kilgore College. He enjoys video games and pushing Shelby's buttons.

Blaine and Bryson met playing on the golf team in middle school and contiune their bromance thru high school and college. Blaine graduated from the University of Oklahoma and is currently living in Wisconsin to train for a job in HVAC sales. He enjoys playing video games and spending time with his bros.

Travis and Bryson met thru Brady and have since become fast friends. They have bonded over a shared love of football and annoying Brady when they can. Travis is currently pursuing a degree in property management at The University of Texas in Arlington. He plans to use his degree to play Monopoly in real life. He enjoys playing video games with Brady and cheeseball snacks.

Brazos is Shelby and Brady's younger cousin. Brazos is the happiest kid you will ever meet which is why he bonded with Bryson so quickly. Brazos is in the 6th grade and lives in Galveston, Texas. He enjoys playing fetch with the dogs and Legos.

Joe is Bryson's only brother who loves his older Bubba. Joe is a 4th grader who enjoys Math and Science. He also loves to play roblox and build legos. He has even built the Titanic out of legos which is over 9000 pieces! He loves dinosaurs, transformers and playing outside.

Nathan is the son of Marcus and Brandy Eger who are longtime friends (that are family) to Chris and Jennifer. Their families have shared many vacations over the years. Bryson was able to join in on several of their adventures, creating a great relationship between the two. Nathan is in the PGA program at Mississippi State University. He enjoys spending lots of time on the golf course and Publix chicken sandwiches.

Andrew is the youngest child of Marcus and Brandy Eger. Andrew and Shelby are essentially cousins as they have known each other their entire lives.  Shelby has fond memories of taking Andrew to visit princesses at Disney World, where Andrew would always smile at the ladies.  Andrew is a high school sophomore and lives in Jacksonville, Florida. He enjoys theater and soccer.

Pam has been a Bonus Mom to Shelby, most of Shelby's life.  Shelby wanted to honor that relationship by having Pam dress as her something blue for the wedding. Shelby has always looked up to Pam because of her kind nature and her awesome gift giving skills. Pam enjoys napping with her kitties and reading.

Along with Pam, Bryan has been a Bonus Dad to Shelby and most recently to Bryson. Going so far as sending them weekly Dad jokes via text. Bryan will be officiating the wedding. He enjoys Star Wars and all things nerdy.

Brandy is Shelby's Bonus Aunt.  Shelby has always had a special bond with Brandy because of her I am bad bitch attitude. Brandy is the toughest person you will ever know. She loves typing with purpose on her laptop and laughing at Chris.

Travis is Shelby's Godfather and Chris' oldest friend. Travis and Shelby both love to discuss their travel adventures and their cats. Travis enjoys Mambo Taxis from Mi Cocina and making inappropriate jokes.

Shelby has known Uncle Marcus her entire life. When Shelby was younger, Uncle Marcus would play tea party with Shelby and brush her hair. Since Bryson has come into Shelby’s life,  Marcus and Bryson have become text buddies where they discuss every type of sport on the planet. Marcus enjoys watching golf and hanging out with his people.

Transporation will be provided for our guests staying at the Home2Suites in Mckinney. The transportation times to and from are listed below. Trip #15:00 p.m. - bus transportation will arrive at the Home2Suites to take guests to the Cinnamon Barn. Trip #210:00 p.m. - bus transportation will take guests from the Cinnamon Barn back to the Home2Suites. Trip #311:30 p.m. - the last bus to transport remaining guests back to the Home2Suites.

The Jennings Family has been going to the Ballard Street Cafe since they moved here in 2002. It is beloved family owned Wylie treasure to the community. It has small town charm and friendly staff. Try the pancakes and sausage!

When the Jennings need Mexican food, this is usually where they gather. Friendly staff, great food, and fun atmosphere. The bride and groom are partial to the enchiladas and sausage quesadillas. Also, they have a fun 80's &amp; 90"s playlist that the staff likes to sing too.

If you’re looking for a whiskey tasting, check out Herman Marshall Distillery in downtown Wylie.  They have a large list of old fashions that you can pick from.  A personal favor from the mother of the bride is the peanut butter old-fashioned. Delicious!

Landon Winery is a charming local Texas winery that offers tastings of several different varieties of wine. Check out the Wylie location in Downtown Wylie or the Mckinney location in downtown Mckinney. When you go in for a tasting, try the Texan Cabernet Sauvignon. It is a favorite of the grandmother of the bride.

There are two First Watch restaurants in McKinney. First Watch is a great place for breakfast, brunch and lunch with many choices of healthier dishes, a fun juice, bar and many of the classic breakfast favorites. First Watch is a favorite of Jennifer‘s and her best gals.

Historic Downtown Mckinney has several small business boutiques and unique shops including, art galleries, antique stores and specialty shops. There is also several local wineries that offer tastings.

If you are willing to drive a little distance from Allen, check out World Springs in The Colony. It is a great way to relax before the wedding. Plus, if you are coming from Houston, come check it out before your location opens in 2025. World Spring offers over 40 mineral hot springs with temperatures from the mid 80's to the low 100's, and refreshing cold plunges at 55'F. Plus, saunas, fire pits, a cafe and bar, and poolside drink service. The Dead Sea, European, Asiatic, and Americas regions are Adults 18+. Guests under 18 are welcome in the South Pacific Region. Letter to Shelby's Grandma Donna from Jennifer One of the most exciting moments for a bride is shopping for the dress. The perfect dress gives the bride a chance to let her personality, style and taste shine.&nbsp;It can help her feel special, beautiful and confident on one of the most important days of her life. When you find that dress, most brides rarely think about what will become of the dress after the wedding. In most cases it sits in a sealed box turning yellow as the years pass. In some cultures, the dress is passed down through generations though for many the dress is in a closet or attic waiting for a possible rebirth.&nbsp;From time to time the bride will think about the dress and even may talk about it. Rarely though does it become a topic of interest as you move further and further from your wedding date.One afternoon when Shelby was about a year old, I was having a conversation about my wedding dress with my mother-in-law, Donna. At the time many brides weren’t doing what they are doing now such as making robes from their mothers’ gowns or using the material to wrap the wedding flowers. Donna began tossing around ideas and remembered that she had a friend who would pull out her dress every year on her daughter’s birthday and take a photo of her daughter in the dress. I absolutely LOVED this idea and immediately set it in motion.When Shelby was a toddler, the dress swallowed her tiny frame, making her look like a doll in a sea of white fabric. As she grew older, the dress still dwarfed her, but it was a delight to see how much she had grown compared to the previous year. Every November 27th, I would arrange a mini photo shoot, capturing Shelby in different poses, sometimes holding flowers or wearing my veil (which she thought was hideous). The photos were stored in a special album, each year marking a new chapter in Shelby's life.As the years went by, Shelby's relationship with the dress evolved. When she was a child, it was a fun and slightly silly tradition. She would twirl around, making the dress flare out, and make her perfect Disney princess face. In her teenage years, she began to appreciate the significance of tradition. The dress started to fit her better, and she began to understand the love and memories it symbolized.By her 18th birthday, Shelby had grown into a young woman. When she put on the dress that year, it fit her almost perfectly. It was a bittersweet moment for me. The tradition that Donna helped me create had become a beautiful time capsule of Shelby's life. These photos remain a cherished part of Shelby's childhood to me.Never in a million years did I ever think Donna’s inspiration would be a beautiful way to capture the passage of time and the journey Shelby would take as she grew up. Every year, until Donna's death in September of 2012, Donna would remind me it was time to take the photo. Seeing this photo every year was her joy and became the legacy we never thought Donna would give us.I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I have over the years. Maybe we will see the dress again.
