Sixteen years ago, we met for the first time on a basketball court in Longview, Texas. Thanks to our mutual friends our paths crossed.

After high school, we remained in the same friend groups, playing basketball, etc. Life eventually took us in separate directions, and while part of us wishes we had the opportunity to love each other all those years, we have both said we are grateful that we both grew up, and experienced life where Kyle went on to have Rylee, and Shelby had Brooklynn and Greyson, who all perfectly complete our family today.

Fast forward to late 2020, when Kyle reached out during a very hard time and we quickly reconnected and bonded over raising pre-teen girls and reminiscing about the “good old days”.

This all led to our first date at Jucys Hamburgers. After four hours of catching up we realized we better go home, as both of us had to work that night. Jucys breakfast dates became a regular thing (yes always the same booth), as well as “nap dates” because we both worked nights.

The day Kyle proposed we had just finished up our girls’ summer basketball season with those very same friends from all those years ago and their kids. Funny how life has a way of coming full circle!!

During our almost 4 years together we have chased kids to the ends of East Texas and back with Greyson playing Tball and football, Rylee doing cheer, basketball and softball and Brooklynn doing basketball and cheer. We have navigated very hard times, career changes and much more all drawing us closer together.

Although we have done life together for a little while now we are so excited to enter into this new chapter officially starting our family and we cannot wait to share it with all of you!!
