Our Wedding

Shelby and Alan first met in June 2021, just a month before Shelby was preparing to move from Tulsa, OK, to Denver, CO. Their first date was at Oxley Nature Center, where they felt an instant connection. Little did Shelby know that this same spot would later become even more meaningful when Alan proposed!

How We Met

With Shelby’s big move on the horizon, the two spent as much time together as possible. As excited as Shelby was for her new adventure, her last night in Tulsa felt bittersweet. Although their relationship was still new, it felt as if they had known each other for a lifetime. That night, they professed their love for one another, determined to make the most of their time apart.Alan visited Shelby about a month after she moved to Denver, and during that visit, they decided to make it official and became a couple. Long distance wasn’t easy, but their connection only grew stronger. Not long after, Alan made the big move to Denver to be with Shelby, and together, they embraced their new life.

Our Journey

In October 2022, they decided to return to Tulsa to be closer to family and friends. Their bond deepened, and it wasn't long before Alan returned to the place where it all began—Oxley Nature Center—to propose!Now, they are excited to celebrate the next chapter of their journey with you!

Senna is Shelby's cousin on her dad’s side, but they’re as close as sisters. They spent countless days together at their Lita’s (grandma), choreographing dances, singing songs, fighting and making up like only sisters can.

Having grown up with together, Omar has been Alan's ally since day one. From Nevada, to Oklahoma, through Seattle, and throughout time, Omar continues to inspire Alan's interests and aspirations in music, computers, and love.

Kailey, Shelby’s cousin on her mom’s side. Though they didn’t grow up together, every reunion feels seamless. As part of the playful trio—Shelby, Kailey, and Kylee—Kailey brings subtle humor and cherished memories to the big day.

Hunter and Alan studied at The University of Tulsa together. They strengthened their friendship and comradery through their shared coursework while studying Engineering and through their shared friendships.

Kylie is Shelby’s youngest cousin on her mom’s side, and one of the first people to know about Alan! Full of excitement and adventure, Kylie brings an infectious energy wherever she goes.

Jesse and Alan met at TU and quickly bonded over their shared interests in music and the arts. Jesse has helped Alan build his historical and philosophic knowledge, often through late-night and early-morning discussions including Hunter.

Shelby and Shelbie’s friendship started in high school on the cheer team, where they jammed out on the bus, cried over silly boys, and helped each other through the ups and downs of high school. Shelbie is a true example of hard work and kindness, balancing life as an amazing mom to her two children.

Kaitlin was Shelby’s very first friend when she moved to Ramona, OK. From pretending to be Martians to filming zombie movies in the backyard, Kaitlin has brought endless creativity and joy into Shelby’s life.

Drew and Alan met while at TU. For about a year, they lived together as roommates where Andrew shared his responsibility, discipline, and analytical methods with Alan which helped him mature and evolve.

Emily and Shelby’s friendship began in middle school over card games in English class. Even after Emily switched schools, their bond remained strong. Always a call away, Emily has been a source of comfort and laughter for Shelby. Together, they share a special love for the Rocky Horror Picture Show.

Adrian is Alan's cousin who has taught Alan humility, respect, and selflessness. Alan hopes to make it up to Adrian one day as he's always there to help.

Kailin and Shelby have been best friends since 5th grade, bonding over scary YouTube videos and outdoor adventures. From childhood memories to growing into the people they are today, Kailin has been a constant in Shelby’s life

Aldo and Alan grew up together in Las Vegas. While they lived in the same city, the pair would get to see each other at least once a month. Recently, Alan and Aldo have reconnected in Denver and San Francisco where they shared times just like the good ol' days.

Shelby and Micah met at Camp Cowboy, and their friendship flourished during the pandemic as they spent days dancing and tackling schoolwork. As best friends and former Denver roommates, Micah has been a constant source of joy and laughter in Shelby’s life

Shelby and Alex go way back to their days at Eisenhower Elementary! Though they lost touch when Shelby left in 2nd grade, fate brought them back together in 2023 when Shelby returned to Tulsa. Now reunited, the two have shared countless moments together, making up for lost time and strengthening their bond.

Elle, the adorable daughter of bridesmaid Shelbie, is beyond excited to "plant flowers at the wedding." Her joy and enthusiasm will add an extra touch of sweetness to the day.

The Osage Casino Hotel sits about 20 minutes North of Tulsa and provides a shuttle to the venue on the day of the event. The Courtyard Tulsa Downtown is nestled in the city and a few blocks away from great restaurants.

The Gathering Place is a beautiful urban park with paved trails, swings, basketball courts (and many other things), and is placed near Tulsa's Riverside. Enjoy great weather and a stroll here!

This is Alan's favorite nature space near the city and the place where Shelby and Alan met for the first time. Skip this park if it's been rainy, but if the weather is good it's the perfect place for morning bird watching or a relaxing evening walk.

Oxley Nature Center

Visit Turkey Mountain for dirt trails on the South side of Tulsa! Shelby and Alan love visiting for a morning jog or to watch a sunset from the top of the hill (but don't stay until it gets dark, there is no trail lighting... don't ask us how we know).

These are the best hiking trails right outside of Tulsa! Mushroom hunting is great here, just make sure to bring a snack! Shelby and Alan enjoy sharing picnics with their parents here.

Shelby owns Mom's Closet, a buy-sell-trade clothing store on Route 66 near Mother Road Market! Visit her to see her wonderful smile and to find stylish expressive second-hand pieces to wear around town!

Country Bird Bakery

Heirloom serves the best coffee in the morning and some great brews in the evening. Dante's pizza serves pies here too. It's Alan's favorite place to "get work done" on his laptop.

Heirloom Rustic Ales

MRM is the best place to feed a hungry crowd. It's a food hall where as many as 10 restaurants share dining areas, so everyone can order what they want from wherever they choose. The chef at Doctor Kustom has won some crazy awards the last several years, and the southern creole food slaps. Alan's favorite Tulsa ice cream (Big Dipper) also scoops here.

Mother Road Market

This is where Alan and Shelby shared their first date in the city! This restaurant serves authentic (delicious) Ecuadorian food and is owned/operated by the family of one of Alan's college friends. The portobello empanada is Shelby's favorite. It's tucked near Guthrie Green and the Center of the Universe in Downtown Tulsa.
