Q + A

Is the wedding still in Camarillo with the fire?

Yes! It is still at Sterling Hills by Wedgewood Weddings in Camarillo, CA. Same time and same place as originally planned!

When is the deadline to RSVP?

The RSVP by date has changed due to a sudden increase of space available at our venue which means more invites sent out! Please RSVP by Thursday, October 17, 2024. If you have any questions or need help, please reach out to Michelle Hoff (Shelby's Maid of Honor) at 559-789-7218.

What do I do if I'm having trouble RSVPing? Website won't work, I'm technologically challenged, etc.

Contact the bride or groom or one of their immediate family members and we will change your rsvp answer for you!

When should I arrive for the ceremony? How long is it?

The ceremony will start at 3:30 PM. Please arrive by/between 3:00 and 3:15 to ensure you make it in time. The ceremony will be 30 minutes, followed immediately by the reception at the same location, and will go until 8:30 PM.

If I need a hotel, what are my options?

Our venue helps us get the best hotel group rates in the Ventura area! On your RSVP please specify if you need a hotel room or not. We will put more details in the "Travel" section of our website about which hotels we have partnered with after the contracts are made :)

What is the guideline for attire?

Formal, semi-formal, or fairytale! If you show up in shorts and a t-shirt we will make you go buy a more fitting outfit for the occasion hahaha

Are kids allowed?

This is an adult-only wedding unless the Bride and Groom have specified on your personal invite. Please have them stay home :) Thank you!

Are plus-ones allowed?

Just like with kids, we are limited to who we can invite due to costs, so unless your invitation has been specified as a plus one invite, please leave any additional family, friends, or SO's off your RSVP.

What food options will there be?

We selected a menu that caters to everyone! Gluten free, vegan, and vegetarian food options are available. There will also be a carving station for our meat loving friends. Here is menu for you if you'd really like to know the specifics: Appetizers: - Domestic and imported cheeses with wafers (Vegetarian) - Rainbow vegetable platter with pesto hummus dip (Gluten free and Vegan) - Roma tomato and basil bruschetta (Vegan) - Mac & cheese panko croquettes (Vegetarian) - Pulled pork canapes with pineapple salsa - Sweet & tangy BBQ meatballs Entrees: - Panko Parmesan Crusted Chicken with Sherry Cream - Five Cheese Tortellini Pesto Parmesan (Vegetarian) - Oven Roasted Turkey with gravy (Carving station) - Garlic mashed potatoes - Salad (there will be 3 options for salad tbd) (Vegetarian) Dessert: For desert we have spoken with our baker to provide an array of mini cupcakes of varying flavors for all our guests! There will also be a red velvet gluten free option for those with gluten allergies.

Can I bring my own meal if I have a special diet?

Unfortunately, our venue only makes exceptions to Kosher diets. If you are vegan, vegetarian, or gluten free, you cannot bring outside food. But we have chosen a menu that caters to most diets already :) (See food options question above for full menu)

Can we bring our own alcohol?

Unfortunately, our venue has a policy that prohibits guests from bringing their own alcohol. Fortunately, we are offering an open bar to our guests throughout the night so there will be plenty of spirits to go around! If you are bringing wine as a gift, you are welcome to leave the bottle on the gift table :)

Can I wear white/cream/offwhite to the wedding?

NO. And if you do, you will either be escorted out or have red wine poured on you by one of the bridesmaids, as is tradition.

Will there be filming at the wedding? Are we allowed to take pictures and video?

We have hired a team of professional photographers and videographers to capture our special day. We do ask that you limit your personal photo and video taking time to the reception. We will have specific guidelines for how we want you to take photos during the ceremony. Thank you! P.S. if you know the bride or groom or their families, by all means send pictures that you have taken to them as we want to see pics from your POV as well! We will most likely use an app with a QR Code at every table that allows you to upload your photos for all to see.

Can we purchase gifts outside of your registry?

While we won't say no to your generosity, we do prefer if you stick to our registry as closely as possible. You can always ask the bride or groom personally if you know them :)

What will the weather be like the day of the wedding?

The weather forecast in Camarillo for Monday, November 11 is mostly sunny with a high of 68°F and a low of 46°F.

What more can I expect at the wedding?

We will have an untraditional guest book table inside the reception hall! Instead of a book, we have opted for 3 alternatives: 1) a picture frame that will have one of the couple's wedding prints which you can sign on the edges, 2) a personalized family Bible where we would love for you to leave a message and highlight your favorite scripture, 3) a family recipe card box where you can bring/write your own favorite recipes to share with the couple to help get them started!
