Picnic Point and the Lakeshore Path are on Lake Mendota. You can park in lot 129 or lot 130 for free on the weekends. You can also look at the Eagle Heights Community Gardens (the largest in the state). There are also several Native American mounds that can be found along the path.

Take a walk around UW-Madison. You can visit Memorial Union and pick up some Babcock ice cream (made at UW-madison), stop by the South Union to play some billiards or go bowling, or walk around and look at the historic campus (which is home to the most Native American Mounds of any college campus).
