Shelley and Angie’s journey began in the world of direct service. They technically first met when Angie toured Shelley’s worksite—though in true Angie fashion, she has absolutely no memory of this. 😊 Luckily, the universe gave them a second chance years later when they reconnected online and instantly clicked over their shared love of advocacy, uplifting marginalized communities, and, most importantly, dogs.

From the start, they were a perfect balance: Angie, the whimsical, big-picture dreamer with a flair for spontaneity—and Shelley, the organized, detail-loving planner who makes sure those dreams actually happen (on time, with snacks packed, and reservations confirmed). Together, they’ve built a life full of laughter, love, and color-coded calendars.

They take joy in the simple things: cooking dinner side by side, reading on lazy Sunday afternoons, and turning even the most ordinary moments into adventures. Whether it's a walk with their pup, a spontaneous dance party in the kitchen, or debating whether "just one more dog" is reasonable, they find happiness in just being together.

Their travels have taken them to places like the Hawaiian Islands, Seattle, Chicago, San Diego, Iowa, and Santa Fe—where they got engaged and now return every Memorial Day for green chile, gorgeous sunsets, and the occasional “We should move here” conversation. They’ve also enjoyed musicals, family gatherings, and yes, even a few sporting events that Angie swears Shelley secretly enjoys.

At the heart of it all is a deep, joyful love—rooted in friendship, laughter, and the kind of connection that makes even laundry folding a team effort (though one of them is definitely better at it).
