Daniel and Shelly met on a fall Saturday in 2014 at The Ohio State University. Daniel started the conversation, Shelly wasn't sure she had met someone who could chat so much before talking to Daniel :) But, ever since then, we've really been each other's friend and supporter for almost a decade. We owe it all to some of our groomsmen for us being in the same place at the same time that day. Together we've tackled years of school, long distance, and loosing many people we loved, and wish could be at our wedding.
Some of those loved ones include Shelly's grandpa Louis Verhoff. Shelly's grandma Marian Verhoff joined her beloved Louie this fall. We can only hope to still be laughing on the dance floor decades into marriage just like they did.
During our time together, we've also said goodbye to Daniel's grandpa David Miller and James Glosser, Daniel's mom and dad, Tim and Donna, and Daniel's brother Zach. We know they would love to celebrate with us, nobody likely more excited than Daniel's mom Donna. It's not hard to imagine how excited she'd be to shop for dresses. We think about them, and our other beloved grandparents, every day. We're thankful for their examples of love and commitment.
We've also celebrated new additions to the family we couldn't imagine life without, celebrated finishing school, and finally settled into the same zip code together. Shelly works as a nurse and Daniel works in IT from home.
We share our home with Mia, the cat, she loves long naps in the sun and bird watching. We also added Honda, a sweet and very fluffy dog we found needing a new home on Facebook. Honda even got to be a part of the proposal, carrying the ring box on his collar.
After many years together, Daniel finally got down on one knee and asked the question in the kitchen of our home we are grateful to share together. We're excited to continue our adventure as newlyweds and can't wait to celebrate with you all at the wedding!
