Our story begins with a silly little one liner that brought us to our wedding day. Stormy's quick wits with humor won over Sherry's heart quickly. "I wanna shoot hoops through your gauges" secured the first date and the rest is history.
We decided to go to Stone Brewery as our first date in Point Loma. Sherry had the great idea to bring a card game to the dinner called, We're Not Really Strangers. The date was going so well that when Sherry went to use the restroom, Stormy told the waiter that he had just proposed to her and that the waiter missed it. He actually believed him and we got a free dessert! We also went Stone Brewery for our first anniversary and that time we got a honest free dessert.
Sherry was accepted into a cult in British Columbia, Canada! Just kidding, it was a farming internship where she lived on site in a communal living space. The long distance was hard and in order to make up for the time we couldn't see each other, we would be on phone calls for hours and every weekend we would play Minecraft and build our home together. The time apart made us realize how much we loved each other.
When Sherry's internship was over, we made the decision for her to move in with Stormy. From there on, Sherry would get rid of all of Stormy's bachelor decor and gave our home a more Live, Laugh, Love approach. Sherry also decided that every two weeks it was time to move all the furniture around to give it a better look. We are still deciding to this day where our bed and bookshelves look best... As Courage the cowardly dog said," The things I do for love."
Sherry and Stormy are big adventurers and are always wanting to go see what's out there. From going to rural farmlands in Canada to bustling cities like Vancouver and Nashville, to shredding the snowy mountains in Mammoth and riding the dunes in Glamis. Our next adventure is to finish building our camper van to travel to all of the western states!
On June 24th, 2023, would be the day that Sherry and Stormy become Fiancés. It started off with a Scavenger hunt were Sherry would have to figure out the riddles to go to the next challenge. We started off going to our favorite breakfast cafe, to the batting cages, then to K1 Speed Go-Karts, to The Pub on Cuyamaca Lake and then finishing at Sherry's favorite hike called the Santa Ysabel Open Space Preserve where Stormy got down on one knee and asked Sherry Jean to be his wife. :)
