Sheryl and Jonathan met on Friday, August 28, 2015 in Washington, DC.

That night, they were celebrating the recent engagement of their friends Erica Strudler (Bridesmaid) and Isaac Snyder (Groomsman). Sheryl cooked dinner and Jonathan was late arriving because he stopped to get a haircut, a beer and a corned beef sandwich (he didn't know Sheryl was cooking).

Sheryl's first words to Jonathan were, "You're late. Can you say kiddish (ceremonial prayer for wine)?" and Jonathan responded, "Well, my parents funded about a quarter of a million dollars for a Jewish education, so I think I can handle that".

After some flirty banter and the clock getting close to striking midnight, Jonathan gave Sheryl his number. The next night after some initial resistance, Jonathan got Sheryl's number and they talked on the phone every day before their first date.

Sheryl and Jonathan's first date consistent of brunch and baseball on labor day, September 7, 2015. After some initial nerves, Sheryl broke the ice by managing to break her flip flop in a giant wad of gum on an Eastern Market sidewalk. After repairing her shoe with super glue Jonathan obtained in a cold sprint to CVS, she strolled right into his heart over brunch at Cava Mezze.

From there, they witness the Nationals lose to Mets at Nationals Park. But, all was not lost. Jonathan played the sympathy card and Sheryl agreed to a second date.

Jonathan proposed to Sheryl at the Four Seasons in Baltimore on November 12, 2016. After the proposal, about 25 close family and friends were waiting at Cava Mezze in Harbor East to celebrate with the happy couple.
