Chris and Shirine met online in May through the grace and planning of God. While living in Charlotte, Shirine was fasting in her own way, and Chris was fasting in his own way, living in Columbia. Both were praying and asking God to lead them in the right direction. She was ready and praying for her person, the person that God wanted her to be with. He was finally ready to find his person, but not just any person. He was looking for someone who could break down the walls of the past and build a Godly kingdom with.


When they first met, the vibe and chemistry were there, but both were not sure if this was the person that God had sent for them. After weeks of dating and spending time together, Shirine left on a girls' trip to New Orleans. They didn't know it at the time, but both were praying about each other, saying, God, if this is the man/woman you want me to be with, let it be known. They both prayed their own prayers, and while she was away, both couldn't wait to be reunited. Chris had told himself, When she gets back, I'm not letting her go.


On July 3rd, 2023, Chris took Shirine to a spot where he usually prays and asked her to be his girlfriend. From that day on, he never let her go. After a month of planning with family and friends, Chris surprised Shirine with a proposal on the beach on October 29th, 2023. Some people may think it's a short amount of time from when they first met to their marriage, but time means nothing when God constructs your relationship. This love story proves that when a relationship is true and real, God will be at the center of it.
