In the lead-up to the wedding day, two important pre-wedding rituals are celebrated to invoke blessings and ensure a smooth and prosperous union—Grah Shanti and Pithi. Grah Shanti, meaning "peace for the home," is a ceremony where prayers and rituals are performed to cleanse the couple’s home and surroundings. This auspicious occasion is meant to remove any negative energies and bring peace and prosperity into the couple's new life together. It is a time for family and friends to come together and offer their blessings for a harmonious marriage. Pithi, also known as the Haldi ceremony, is a joyous and vibrant tradition where turmeric paste is applied to the bride and groom by their loved ones. The yellow paste symbolizes beauty, purity, and auspiciousness, while also serving as a ritual to cleanse and prepare the couple for their wedding day. This lively celebration is full of laughter, music, and warm wishes, setting the tone for the upcoming wedding festivities. Both Grah Shanti and Pithi are deeply rooted in cultural significance, creating a sense of unity, joy, and spiritual connection as the couple embarks on their new journey together. Dinner to follow.
